If they are in an 'old folks' community, it would be tough to get in, set the stage, and get out, but it would be even more likely to be noticed trying to take the corpse with them. Suicide would be more plausible to the rank and file, and just a blip in the news. Other more questionable activity and/or a disappearance would be more likely to get extended newsplay.
In the event of foul play, the perpetrators and their employers would want this out of the news, dead, and buried, as fast as possible.
