Can America survive federal government at %3 trillion a year? $6 trillion by 2011?

Gas is cheap.

Gas is cheap? GAS IS CHEAP???

Excuse me?

Try telling that those of us who are being killed financially by the rising prices at the pump. And don't give me this "adjusted for inflation" bullcrap. All I know is that now, instead of taking $5.00 to get 5 gallons of gas now it takes almost $20.00 and that is something my pocketbook, and the pocketbook of millions of others, can't handle.

And why is this happening?

It's because we have a bunch of yellow spined cowardly socialists in Congress who are more worried about sucker fish and kangaroo rats than they are about drilling right in our own back yard to accomodate our need for oil.

It's because of FEAR of what is happening overseas in the Middle East, fear of what Iran is doing, fear of the rebels in Nigeria, FEAR FEAR FEAR!

Gas is cheap, MY ARSE!

“Gas is cheap.”

I agree gas is cheap for what it does and compared to the alternatives and as a part of the aggregate spend. What is crazy is what happens when we export petro-dollars. It causes all kinds of problems with our economy and monetary system. And causes the entire economies of some parts of the Country to become welfare mothers living off gubmint handouts.

Yes, because we can choose to change habits and priorities and adjust personal budgets, or make more money and deal with it that way.

You are right that ever-increasing taxes are the thing we can’t survive. The Imperial government needs to be shrunk back to its constitutional limits. Government can’t be the safety net and uncle sugar for us and the illegals and the world. It ain’t working.

How much did you pay for gas 4 years or 8 years ago. How much do you pay today. Now compare that increase with other prices you pay. This is how people look at it. Just from a personal prospective. I live in a fairly new home (over 5 years old). Between gas and Natural gas. Over the last two months I have spent just over $780 in gas alone, and there is no end in sight. Thank goodness I make a good salary. Nevertheless, I can see why people are outraged.
