Border Fence Fiasco(Chuck Norris)
worldnetdaily.com ^ | April 28, 2008 | Chuck Norris

Posted on 04/28/2008 5:15:45 AM PDT by kellynla

Last week Customs and Border Protection officials reported that two months after Homeland Security Secretary, Michael Chertoff, approved a $20 million virtual fence along a 28-mile stretch in Arizona (called Project 28), the fence was scrapped as impractical and ineffective.

Is anyone really shocked by this security fence fiasco? Another government solution bites the dust.

Our government has failed to produce a suitable resolution to the illegal immigrant crisis. Amnesty is not the answer. And immigration laws aren't effective if we continue to dodge or ignore them. Furthermore, globalization efforts have only confused security matters, endangering our borders as well as our national identity – our sovereignty.

While border patrols and homeland security have made some headway, our nation's boundaries, ports and airports remain largely open runways for illegal and terrorist transport. For example, Sen. Jeff Bingaman, D-N.M., just sent out his newsletter update (April 21, 2008) reminding us about another type of illegal crossing, those from the United States to Mexico. It appears drug cartels are again using revenue derived from their "free trade" to illegally purchase weapons in the U.S. and smuggle them back into Mexico, where they are bolstering murder rates up 100 percent in certain towns.

Exacerbating the security crisis is the fact that there continues to be a shortage of both Border Patrol and other safety government officials. The Homeland Security Department is still trying to fill last year's 138 vacancies in high-level jobs – an employment crisis that it calls "a critical homeland security issue that demands immediate attention."

someone failed to inform Hunter & Tancredo that politics is like checkers ...not chess...
let me know when either one wins a statewide election.

I sometimes think these guys run for president just so they can travel the country on OPM. LOL

Reagan was Gov. in the 60s when we were still republican.
Arnold or my cat would have won the special election after
what Greyout Davis did to the state.
Also Arnold is not a conservative or moderate republican.

In the past 10 years the democrat population has grown especially the millions of Mexicans in the state.

I am native of this state for several decades and also worked at Reagan’s headquarters here in San Diego.

How many years have youy lived in Calif and your background in politics here?

It is interesting that you are agitated by Hunter and probably his Marine Capt. son.

You need to move on and put that hate towards the democrats.

Displacement is not your friend. You need to find out what is really bothering you and focus on that.
You are embarrassing yourself.

Not sure what ‘OPM’ is, but I think Hunter wanted his hot button issues front and center, as well as his son’s candidacy for Congress.

I do agree, winning a statewide election in CA would be HUGE for him.
He has name recognition now, but not the popularity (yet).

It would take a conservative superstar to beat the liberals in CA.
I can’t think of any, can you?

“Well, maybe if Chuck Norris had endorsed Duncan Hunter instead of the dog beater’s daddy, the fence would’ve gotten serious play.”

If Chuck had gotten Huck to talk like this instead of insulting us all because we want the border secure, it would have been nice.

“I like Duncan BUT he needs to win a statewide office like governorship before he tries to run for POTUS.”

Right....like the 3 finalists we’ve got now? They didn’t neet that, did they?

Hunter got nowhere because he’s a conservatives. The GOP and media aren’t about to let a conservative get anywhere.

“Hunter got nowhere because he’s a conservative?”

try again...LOL

Exactly my point, BECAUSE we don't have a very good field of candidates we're stuck with a RINO & 2 ‘Rats...none of whom have EVER balanced a budget in their political careers!

Now, what we need is for true blue conservatives to run for political office especially in congress and for governorships so we have a better field of candidates to choose from for POTUS!

“and what was Ronald Reagan’s excuse...”

If the GOP had gotten it’s way, Reagan wouldn’t have made it either, would he?
