It’s not the FairTax. It’s not the Flat Tax. It’s the Obama Tax.
You have to read past page one of Obama’s Economic Agenda (http://www.barackobama.com/issues/economy/#tax-relief) to find this little utopian gem of doing your taxes in five minutes. Page one is naturally beautiful rhetoric and inspiring promises.
Obama’s rationale for making this possible is the fact that the IRS already receives Americans’ financial information directly from employers and banks. It’s required by law. What he did not tell you is that, in order for the IRS to complete your tax return, you would have to send the IRS all of your other itemized tax information and supporting schedules.
Voila! Instant IRS audits!

When I read this, I immediately thought: yeah, 100% is pretty simple.
“Obama’s Tax Simplification” = “How much did you make last year? Send it in.”
Your employer sends your check directly to the government and the government mails you an allowance.

total simplification would be to give everything to the government first and then let “them” decide how much one should receive of one’s own salary. very, very simple, no?

The IRS already does “instant audits” with the information they receive.
Some Euro countries do the taxes for the taxpayer and you simply agree or disagree, sign and send a check.
Oh, that's much too complicated. Just make the government EVERYBODY'S employer, and save all that messy paperwork.
Obama’s “plans” are frightening. An additional problem with much of the Left’s giveaways is they are largely directed at people with kids. So if you don’t make much money and don’t have any kids at home, you are screwed tax-wise.
Plus, if they implement their equally scary “universal health care” I’d be up a creek without a paddle.
Well, we are already tax slaves, so the term "employer" is a euphemism the government tyrants will agree to using.
There are federal laws against tax evasion in the US Code, but there is no law making not filing a crime.
When the government has a legitimate tax evasion case, it brings an indictment to the court, and quoting the pertinent parts of the US Code which make that activity criminal, along with the distraint which can be applied on conviction. There are no such laws under US Code for not filing! Yet, the federal court agrees to subvert the law by taking juristiction in IRS Tax Rule violations, and applying IRS Rules of taking your money Involuntarily.
So, it IS NOT a Voluntary Individual Tax, Withholding, or filing! Amazing! Our own federal government playing games with the laws of our nation, subverting the courts in cooperation with the judges who support such a sabotage of our Constitution and laws!
AND they *directly* disobey the 5th Amendment, along with a number of other articles, in this pogrom of tax slavery the socialist vermin have instituted since WWII ended.
For my part, I officially protest, here in this published document which is transmitted around the world, and in other published internet venues! I dare the tyrants of the federal government to spend millions investigating, trying me and sending me to jail for years for NOT FILING. If they do it will be because I defend our nation's Constitution against this tyranny of force by government!
