State DOT tries to blame asphalt wear and ruts on studs. Total BS in my opinion. It’s a cover-up for using more sand (going cheap) in the paving mix instead of D2 crushed rock.

ADOT is concerned with pavement wear on bridges. It’s bogus. They do more patching by 1000X due to permafrost damage.

State DOT tries to blame asphalt wear and ruts on studs.Yeah, that's why the stretch of the Glenn north of Birchwood they repaved this summer was starting to show the beginnings of ruts before the studs even came on.
