the women that escaped wrote about it

There's some of those stories from the SPLC and other antiChristian leftists. There's other "escapees" who talk about an oppressive religion, not rape.

Any way the children can be taken out of that cult is good for them.

Not if it isn't legal. The presumption of innocence has gone out the window.

Give us a link.

Questin. They got out on their own, didn’t they?

Believe me, they won’t get out of the clutches of CPS. And what will happen to them under their “care” will make whatever happened in their previous environment heaven.

I know the facts. Do you?

Hank

CPS has been known to overstep its boundaries, I've heard tales from innocent parents about children taken away for saying something at school about discipline in the home.

Children are given way too much say-so, given way too much attention to childish complaints, and the do-gooders at CPS fall all over themselves to “protect” children that need no protection.

But, IN THIS CASE, this high profile case, I think we should take a second look. The only entity that can legally help those who don't even know they need it, are CPS.

During an election season, it would take a village idiot to defend the quaint idea of the autonomous family.

Well, I guess Ilana Mercer, this article's author, indeed qualifies then as the online village idiot.

The idea that any part of the social order--be it the government, the family, the church, the military...etc. is absolutely autonomous--an entity unto its own & accountable to no one (even God)...is frankly a "heresy" against both conservative principles & Scripture itself.

How’d you get the entire article posted? Isn’t WorldNetDaily supposed to be excerpted? (The post itself is a good one.)

From the article: ...implicit retreat from the position that children are first and foremost wards of the state, and their parents nothing but low-level civil servants who must obey the state's child-rearing directives, or else.

Leave it to the extreme right guard to fail to realize that it's usually failures at the level of the families or the family "arrangements" (alternative configurations) that brings such wide open intervention invitations to the state.

So, besides getting it wrong on God being the only absolutely autonomous being, Mercer seems to convenienly leave out that it's the exploiters who prey upon young girls that have been at the roots of much governmental action. The problem becomes when people refuse to practice self-government...they wind up leaving the door wide open for someone else to hold society accountable.

The "maxim" behind this is operative in all kinds of venues in life...folks' employment...their spiritual lives...relationships...family life, etc. The "maxim" is this: "If you don't 'police' yourself, somebody else will." (If you don't exercise self-government, civil government will kick in to fill the vacuum)

God knew that nature would abhor such a vacuum of accountability; hence he placed the state as a representation of his authority (Romans 13)...even though the state is NEVER to consider itself as the "end-all" authority.

The presumption of innocence has gone out the window.

Name a situation...a school counselor hearing about a report of "abuse" from a student...a pastor hearing about a similar report...where the CPS is simply suppose to ignore these reports?

Secondly, is the CPS just suppose to remain actionless or go beyond verifying the basic facts by launching some deep investigation? (What are folks suggesting? That the CPS take the place of our law enforcement system? That the CPS sit on such allegations of abuse in the above circumstances and conducts a 4 to 8 week "investigation?" And then once the investigation concludes, CPS would then have enough "evidence" to act as prosecutor, judge & jury minus the ability of the accused to confront his or her accuser?)

No. The law enforcement folks "plays offense" & conducts the investigation. It presents the evidence to prosecutors to see if there's enough evidence to convict. And then the trial & jury process goes on from there.

Once folks start objecting to the role of the CPS to play "prevent defense" and starts demanding that it has "investigative certainty," all they wind up doing is actually (and quite ironically) meddling with the existing power CPS already has and (ironically) winds up giving them even more power. If folks want to start giving law-enforcement level investigative authority to the CPS, look out!

(And meanwhile, people then ask why the CPS didn't intervene earlier in the cases of sexually abused & abused victims...we've already seen more & more abused victims who were CPS caseloads die in recent years...to the point now where child welfare agencies are playing Monday Morning QB & asking what "signals" they missed in the intervention process)

WordNetDaily does not own individual contributors posts. I posted Ilana’s article pending her approval. I suspect it will be granted—but it is easier to get forgiveness then permission. I would not have posted it, in this case, if I doubted the permission. It was a timing thing.

Regarding shortage of good foster care homes - here in California, they passed laws that foster parents may not preach or take their charges to church, nor may you say that homosexuality is wrong. Therefore, hardly any Christians want to be foster parents.

It is evil to take these children away from their mothers. Evil! And the whole raid was based on a hoax. The Constitution is dead.

Uh... perhaps the prosecutor is waiting for the DNA results?

It will be very interesting to hear these old men try to explain away the fact they are the fathers of multiple kids whose mothers are 14 years old...

False allegation reported anonymously to a hotline . . .or even by someone with a vendetta ...”

Or a judge who wants her 15 minutes of fame.

thanks. The ones that do not want to hear the truth about this horrible wretched compund of abuse don’t want to hear that just maybe in this instance, the “government “ did some good and did it very well considering what they were facing.
