If I had to guess, and I do, it would be that DelphiUser’s church invites in guest preachers who slander and villify the Mormon church. Very much in the vein of the very reverend Wright.
But; its just my opinion.

There is a current study checking the claims of Supposed wives of Joseph. The DNA makes them out to be liars.

“Um, as a Mormon, let me say, yes he did, and what are you smoking?”

From the context of the above comment it would appear that greyfoxx39 is the one doing the smoking.

Joseph preached against Polygamy; his one wife affirmed that she was his only wife. Oh, there were no children by any other women. DNA checks have eliminated lots of liars. Also, many women were married to him after his murder(that’s after he was dead - for you stoners).

This N00b wants a lesson in Joseph Smith....I'm sure you can oblige. Who has the "wives" chart?

Your list comes from the LDS Historian Todd Compton.

It is considered by most to be extremely conservative since Compton only included women for whom there was undisputed evidence from two or more sources.

Many put the total far higher. For example, Fawn Brodie names Smith 56 wives in her classic biographic biography, No Man Knows My History.

I have a first edition of Brodie’s book. But I thought it best to post the most conservative list since the poor uneducated in Smithism mormons are already in shock when they learn that there are so many and that many of the women were still married to living men and that many of the women have sworn to the fact that their relationship with Joe was sexual, albeit usually brief.

I thought it best to post the most conservative list since the poor uneducated in Smithism mormons are already in shock when they learn that there are so many.

You probably know Fawn Brodie had extraordinary access to secret Mormon archives through her family connections -- her uncle was LDS President David McKay and her father was the President of BYU. She was careful not to use any information in her histories that was not in the public domain. But she also said on many occasions that her tally of 56 vastly understated the number of Joseph's conquests.

Also, as you probably know, Joseph's most effective approach was to ask a young lady if she wanted to spend eternity in heaven or hell. The outcome depended on the degree to which the woman pleased her prophet.

The Spirit has borne witness to me over and over that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the church of Christ restored, with the same priesthood that existed in the original church, the same ordinances, and the same doctrine. It has also borne witness to me that the Book of Mormon is another witness of Jesus Christ and an ancient record.

"It?" "It??" "It has also borne witness to me...?" What? The Holy Ghost, rarely mentioned in much of Mormon theology, is so unfamiliar to you that HE's an "it?"

Allow me to introduce you to HIM. HE--the Holy Spirit--can be...

Grieved (Eph 4:30)
Outraged (Heb. 10:29)
Lied to (Acts 5:3)
Tempted (Acts 5:9)
Sent ("I will send Him unto you" -- Jesus, John 16:7)

The Holy Spirit...
Loves (Rom. 15:30)
Wills (1 Cor. 12:11)
Sends (Acts 13:4)
Forbids certain actions (Acts 16:6-7)
Teaches ("HE shall teach you all things" - Jesus, John 14:26)

The Holy Ghost isn't some impersonal influential power.

(Examples like these show that when the LDS kicked out the Trinity, they often kick out who the third Person of God is)

Wow. I am amazed.

You might be taken to the woodshed on Free Republic by your LDS and RLDS masters. You have come here and stated things that are clearly wrong and only hurt "The Cause."

Remembering the Wives of Joseph Smith

That list isn't even complete and the number of Smith's "wives" is as high as 60.

Eleven of Smith's wives were between ages 14 and 20, nine were in their 20s...

That is from LDS "scholars."

Smith also had hundreds of women "sealed" to him after his death, but these were different women.

There is ample evidence he "preached against Polygamy" as you said - but even more evidence that he practiced it.

Even Freepers like DelphUser agree he practiced polygamy and had sexual union with them. < grin >

Sorry - I forgot to mention that the “ < grin >
