SELF-HATING YUPPIE - OBAMA'S 1980S LIBERALISM

April 19, 2008 -- Barack Obama is finally coming into focus.
For a while now, the Obamaphiles have insisted that their candidate represents a profound break with the past. No more culture wars. No more "re-litigating the 1960s," in Obama's own words.
But what about re-litigating the 1980s?
There's always been a certain cultural lag time to Barack and Michelle Obama, a kitschiness that's hard to pinpoint. But I think I've got it: They're self-hating yuppies straight out of the 1980s, which were to the Obamas what the 1960s were to the Clintons.
For those too young to remember, "yuppie" was shorthand for young urban professionals - think Michael J. Fox as Alex P. Keaton in the TV series "Family Ties" - who allegedly represented the collapse of '60s values and the triumph of '80s greed. Yuppies sold their souls for a BMW and a condo.
Ironically, the biggest complaints about yuppie materialism came from self-loathing liberal yuppies - like the Obamas.
The Obamas still seem stuck in that time warp, clinging to '80s-style resentments and political assumptions. Michelle Obama is never so eloquent as when she's complaining about the burden of student loans for her two Ivy League degrees and covering the high cost of summer camp and piano lessons for her kids on her family's half-million-dollar-a-year income.
"Don't go into corporate America," she exhorted low-income working mothers in Ohio in February, even though she is a highly compensated hospital executive. She admits to being consumed with "a constant sense of guilt" over having to balance work, politics and family. "It's guilt, feeling guilty all the time."

That about sums up the way he thinks. He has what can best be described as a Messianic Complex. We've seen his kind before.

He has no shame. MArxists are willing to say anything to obtain power.

"Don't go into corporate America," she exhorted low-income working mothers in Ohio in February, even though she is a highly compensated hospital executive. Let's talk about how sinister the "hospital business" is sometime.

True. And he never takes personal responsibility for any of his ‘misspoken mistakes’. Obama is just beginning to shed the outer skin of the onion. There are more, scarier layers to come forth. Let's hope he is completely unwrapped before the November election.

LOL because the Obamas always reminded me of 1980’s yuppies with 1960’s ideas.
Obama is just a few years older than I am, and the Reagan-led 1980’s were an important time for people in our age range. The Clintons are stuck in the 1960’s. I’m not sure about McCain. When will there be a 21st Century candidate?

Obama belongs to a "Black Liberation Theology" Church that is FOUNDED on the hatred on Whites.
He followed a Pastor for 20 years who is the most ignorant, racist, America-hating hate-hustler this side of Louis Farrahkan.
His Church puts Hamas propaganda in their bulletin - and he ends up getting the endorsement of that very same terrorist organization.
He spent much of his early adult life smoking dope, snorting cocaine and being mentored by unabashed COMMUNISTS and protege's of Saul Alinsky.
He married an America-hating Black-Radical who followed the writings of Stokley Carmichael and the Black Panthers of the 60's and who, based on her embarassingly narcissistic and academically sophomoric Princeton thesis, should never have been allowed to graduate high school let alone get into Princeton.
He took money from an unrepetent terrorist who was part of the Weather Underground - and still refuses to completely disavow his friendship with him.
He maintained close personal and financial ties with a corrupt convicted Chicago crook named Tony Rezko who bailed him out of financial trouble, bought him a home and then got convicted of extortion, fraud and money laundering.
He WHINED about being asked "like eight questions" at a simple press interview while trying to convince America that he's competent enough to be PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES.
He somehow managed to serve as President of Harvard Law Review without ever publishing a even SINGLE piece of written work.
He even wrote a book describing how he "found a solace in nursing a pervasive sense of grievance and animosity against my mother's race."
He'll even throw his own grandma from the train for political expediency and say that she's just a "typical White person" who was "bred" to harbor racist views.
All that yet he refused to wear a pin with the American flag on it because he thinks THAT would send the wrong message.

“He has what can best be described as a Messianic Complex. We’ve seen his kind before.”
Indeed we have. Interesting times are coming; and, I’m afraid, bad ones. The sh!t is going to hit the fan shortly, I’m afraid.

This is brilliant - That should be the only AD to show through this election cycle. I don’t mind a bumper sticker with this either! :-)
To: TheWasteLand
:-) That would be the end of the 21st Century, but you’re right, that’s probably when we’ll finally have a candidate who concedes that big government social programs don’t work.
