Still have my brother. He lives in western Pennsylvania, with lots of snow. (And his wife, who’s nearer Anoreth’s age than mine, and some catz.)

LOL!
I would love to have a parrot, but I think at this date, it would still be “young” when I died.
Redhead has an African gray, but I would settle for a macaw. Or something smaller. However, I have four parakeets, who may live another 20 years, so I won’t complain.

I think we were fortunate that Wednesday accepted Shannon. I don’t think either one of them wants a kitten for competition!
I was worried about them while we were gone, but they were okay, as were the lizards, gerbils, crabs, and all but one of the fish.

It was a blue and red parrot, and the owner said it was only 5 years old. She looked a little older than I am, so would probably have the parrot the rest of her life.

Then it’s a garnet.
Try a clear crystal.

I have a sister, who is married with one son.
They are, um, not very much like me, DH, and our kids.
Oh well.

Theyre in special, multi-piece, glazed ceramic pots.If they're like what my gramma made, those would be the bowl-shaped ones with a removable pot that sets into it so the water can drain all the way through the pot and out into the bottom of the bowl. The pot sits up an inch or more, so the plants get all the water they want need but the roots aren't left soaking in a pool of it all the time.
IIRC, African violets do not do well if their roots get left to soak. As a tropical, they like the water to run through, and then go away, leaving the soil moist but breathable.

We’ve already got some billiard-ball size tomatoes on our plants, although they’re all still green.

That sounds right. Tropical plants require lots of Nurture. We’re talking about a greenhouse; Bill wants iguanas.

I’m not crazy about birds. I tried to pick it up so Tom could get off the hammock, but it snapped my thumb good and hard. No blood, but that was just luck.
