I should probably get off here and head for bed. The barometer water is spilling out the spout, and that means I’m in for a long night.

Whoa! Not many people can stay friends with ex-co-workers. Actually, we're competitors: every sale my company makes might be a sale lost to my vice-chair and secretary. And vice versa. But that's not our job and we tend not to be too partisan on the committee -- usually. (We have common interests with respect to other parties on the committee, which include our customers.)
I've seen it enough it's amusing: New guy from manufacturer shows up at a meeting, he's really suspicious of the rest of us "Producers." By the end of the meeting he's hoisting beers (or whatever) with the rest of us evil competitors.

Good Morning all,
I got to take a blood test this morning. I’ll let you know if I have any letter.

Morning, FRiends! Cold and drizzly this morning, after a storm last night. Anoreth, Bill and I bicycled up to the pier; my ears got really cold. I saw quite a few people in brand-new Myrtle Beach sweatshirts :-). It’s supposed to clear up and be in the 70’s by late afternoon.
Our plan is that DP and I will take the 5 older children to the movies this afternoon, and the in-laws will watch the byos.
Sunny and 80 in the forecast tomorrow. Maybe Bill can have a kayak for the day.

Good Morning! Sun is already out...looking to be a beautiful day!
Had 2 missions yesterday. 2nd was a WWII vet, who's grandson was killed in Afghanistan. During the procession from the church to the cemetery, I was riding missing man formation flying Old Glory directly in front of the coach...we passed a school with a playground loaded with kids...I was stunned to hear (as the coach was passing by with the widow and family directly behind) shouts of “Viva La Mexico”...”Viva La Raza”...”Viva Aztlan”....Needless to say, at the completion of the mission the Gunny (ride captain) was quite furious...basically blew a gasket...7 of us proceeded directly back to the school...drove bikes right on campus directly in front of the Admin office...went in and vented a little...Counselors and secretaries were shocked at the what happened and promised some action (we don't know what)...principal was not on campus, but Gunny got his info and promised to follow up (Gunny does not renege on his promises)...We'll see what happens.

Just...damn.
In my universe “viva” means “paper towel”.
So, “Viva {whatever}” would be a request for a cleanup operation.
Fitting.

Ooooohhhhh....now THAT’s going too far. Send all those ungrateful, illegal, idiotic aliens back to the country that spawned them. They HAVE no rights in this country until they are citizens, and that includes the right to protest ANYthing.
If the Gunny needs backup, let me know.

That's almost exactly what the Gunny said...although there were a few colorful adjectives added for effect....

I just bid on an a new house being sold by the builder in an auction. It was a sealed bid auction except for two of the houses which were open bids. The highest bid for a house with a asking price of $550,000 was $206,000. The bids close in 11/2hours. I'll know in about four working days. And yes, I did have blood.
To: ThomasThomas
Where I used to live we never saw any houses above $400,000. It must be really nice if it's going for that high. And even if you have blood you're still undead.

I wish I were brave enough to do something like that! LOL!
When I was working, I gave blood every three months, but once I knew I had CFIDS, I don’t give any more. I have no clue (and neither does anyone else) whether CFIDS is spread by the transfer of blood or some other form.
I’m not willing to risk someone else’s life to find out, so I’m no longer an organ donor.
Since the housing market is rebounding here, I’m wondering if I dare look for something to BUY! It would be SOOOO good to have a place of my own!
Let us know when you get the house you bid on! :o]

After my first trip to India I was out of the donation pool. Egypt and India last winter re-upped it to 10 years.
Let us know on the house.
The market slowed down a bit here, but prices are still climbing. Microsoft money, mostly, but there's an awful lot of commercial construction going on in the region.

Regardless of the gloom and doom from the MSM, LV has just kept right on building. Construction has never had a lag in the 25 years I’ve lived here, and I doubt that it will in the future.
The “slump” in housing probably did more for Vegas than the rest of the country realizes, since the home prices are becoming reasonable, once again.
Most folks here ignore the “national gloomsayers.” Which is why we are always under construction!!!

So LV and Seattle are alike in that.
How are you doing today?
