Internal polling data, presented privately last week at the Republican National Committees state chair meeting and provided to Politico, shows John McCain with a solid lead over both his potential general election rivals. Powered by the same appeal to Democrats and independents that fueled his primary election success, McCain is leading Barack Obama 48 percent to 42 percent and Hillary Clinton 51 percent to 40 percent according to RNC polling done late last month.

Rudder, McCain has been moving to the right as of late in interviews with Sean H.
I agree with Tom Delay, we must push McCain as far right as we can.
Don’t go into unwarranted euphoria. The Clinton Attack Machine, fueled by the wealth of G. Soros, other “capitalist” industrialists and financiers, the Hollywood Left, et cetera, et cetera, will become fully operative after the conventions, with special attention to broadcasting virulent lies during late October. The upcoming election is Soros’ best opportunity yet, and possibly ever, to purchase the government of the U.S. and thereby acquire access, through a compliant and sympathetic (to his aims) chief executive and congress, to the levers of regulatory power over the entire U. S. economy.
Agreed. And, with our men & women giving their lives in Iraq for our right to vote, the though of not voting makes me sick.
I will hold my nose & pull the McCain lever.
LOL,
I have a really great picture with Hillery and a soldier in Iraq shaking her hand and with his free hand his middle finger is extended, and he has a sh*t eating grin on his face.
I’m no fan of McCain.
But in the end, what crystallizes it for me is General Petraeus. I’m going to vote for Petraeus to finish his work.
If either of the Dems in the race showed any evidence that they could be trusted on the war, I’d gladly sit this one out. But that isn’t the case, sadly, but unsurprisingly.
The work in Iraq and Afghanistan is too important, and the price in blood has been too high, to simply walk away. The more Obama poses and preens about the war, the more he proves his utter and complete lack of depth. Maybe he’ll turn out to be a quick study. But the risk is too great. Our guys deserve better.
Share that pic! Let’s make it famous!
O. K...................Conspiracy theorist UNITE!
You can't put the toothpaste back into the tube. The libs are ripping each other to shreds and each and everyone of them is a potential campaign commercial for McCain. There is no more effective (Republican) campaign spot then one showing a Democrat slamming another Democrat, in this case the Prty nominee.
Do you think the Reverend Wright thing has gone away? Think again. Rezko? Haven't even started to unfold that one. All these goodies will be saved for prime time rather then be used now when the lib candidates are doing all our work for us.
Neither have the Rep "unloaded" against the libs and when they do they will have the very words of the losing Dem candidate which were used against the ultimate winner, to throw up in their face in the general election.
Sure Howie, especially since your candidates are both lacking either one of the two and in one case both.
So, will you vote for McCain?
Sounds like a wish to me.
Polls in April for an election in November are in my view pretty much wasted effort.
Yep, and most of it will turn voters toward McCain.
LOL, you are right!! I never realized there were so many wackos here on FR
I never shed tears over any leftist candidate losing an election.
The ‘06 vote was to end the war.
Now that Iraq is looking ~good, we won’t see those anti-war people voting against McCain.
Americans are beginning to realize if we support the troops and their commanders (Petraeus), rather than support the enemy (via Murtha, Pelosi, Reid, et. al.) we’ll be able to get out faster, once Iraq is settled.
Cut n run Rats will be rightfully tarred and feathered leading up to the general election.
You are dead on IMHO.
