Get your popcorn boys and girls this is going to be good.

China has lined up 1000's of supporters, while protestors range from Tibetan monks and their supporters, Burmese Monks, other critics of China, and your usual rabble rousers.

GWB better not disappoint me on this one

I'm afraid that verb will become the adjective describing his terms - disappointing.

What the hell has happened to this country that we let so many ChiComs into this country when their sympathies are obviously with one of our top enemies?

We need to seriously stop immigration, all immigration, until we get our house in order.

SEAL THE BORDERS.
NOW!!

Participants of the Olympic torch relay in San Francisco pose for a group picture during closing ceremonies on Wednesday, April 9, 2008 at the San Francisco International Airport in San Francisco. After the torch parade was rerouted and shortened to prevent disruptions by massive crowds of anti-China protesters, the planned closing ceremony at the waterfront was canceled and moved to the airport. The flame was put directly on a plane and was not displayed. (AP Photo/John Storey)

Since they were playing hide and seek with the torch all day yesterday, it makes you wonder what the whole point of the exercise was other than to give the ChiComs a propoganda coup.

The Chicoms got the propaganda tools they wanted. Since they manipulae the internet traffic in China few people in China will even know there were any protesters in SF. Thanks a bunch, Newsome.

Can Ted Kennedy get one of those?

Seriously, protestors of the smelly hippie variety don't do well against real totalitarians. I once read an alternate history where the Germans took India. Gandhi's movement was an abject failure....when the Nazis quit being amused and started being annoyed, they killed them all.

Perhaps the best route is for a few of the Tibet-minded lefty hacker types to attack China's net control systems.

This interesting clip was in an AP report today:

At least one torchbearer decided to show her support for Tibetan independence during her moment in the spotlight. After being passed the Olympic flame, Majora Carter pulled out a small Tibetan flag that she had hidden in her shirt sleeve.

"The Chinese security and cops were on me like white on rice, it was no joke," said Carter, 41, who runs a nonprofit organization in New York. "They pulled me out of the race, and then San Francisco police officers pushed me back into the crowd on the side of the street."

Nice to see the SF Police cooperating so nicely in the propaganda effort ....

We'll see ... they're not all naked hippies.

Apparently they might as well have been. One of the amusing ironies of American politics is the left is constantly using tactics at which they are truly terrible. I'm reminded of the difference between “antiwar” protestors and Ben Mitchell in Enemies Foreign and Domestic

As has been said, the Chinese probably picked SF because with the possible exception of Washington, DC its the American city where they have the most influence and control. So there's a good chance that this wouldn't have worked there because you'd probably need a source in the PD to provide route information, etc.:

The first thing you do is neutralize the disorganized left. Start the movement to simply turn their backs as the torch goes by, wearing Tibetan flags on their backs or waving them. This will keep them occupied and out of the way.

Then the first step is to select an appropriate target. The torch is the symbol of the Olympics, which are not the problem. The problem is the Red Chinese. They also provide a convenient target¦six or seven of them, in powder blue running suits.

However, these guys are military police. Taking them down will require planning, organization, and a number of guys with the proper training who don't mind an extended encounter with the legal system as long as they have the support of at least a large part of the American people, perhaps even the majority.

Planning, timing, and execution are key. Ideally, the torch carrier is a sleeper or at least a loyal American who will go along with this. Outnumber these guys maybe 3-1 and hit them with stun guns, pepper spray, handcuffs, whatever: immobilize and incapacitate them but do not use lethal force or weapons to do so. That's tempting considering who they are and what they represent, but it's counterproductive.

Then replace them with new escorts in historical American (don't use current military uniforms as that becomes a diversion issue) and makeshift Tibetan attire, perhaps with American and Tibetan flags. Calm down the torch carrier if necessary and continue the procession, with a new escort. The worst case scenario isn't all that bad¦the cops detain the new escorts and provide their own. American cops, in uniforms that include American flags (in SF?).

This completely wrecks the Chinese propaganda and embarrasses the hell out of them and their American allies. Done right, it also provides notice to them regarding American will and incidentally embarrases the American left as ineffective at their own game.

GWB better not disappoint me on this one.

I'm sure that is his utmost priority...to make certain that he in no way, does NOT DISAPPOINT YOU.

Obviously, my comment was in regard to my stance that if he disappoints me he would lose my support of him.

What’s your point? That I don’t know something as obvious as the fact that I’m just one voter?

If he can lose your support over this one issue, your support for him must be rather tenuous to say the least.

Oh, I don't think he's running for another term, either.

Thanks for telling me that he’s not running again, because I was convinced he was going to challenge McCain at the convention up until then.

I can only conclude that your tendency to presume that everyone else bases their opinion ignorant of basic facts is a form of projection.

SAN FRANCISCO

Odd how nobody seems to be asking how many CHICOM agents
showed up along the torch relay route carrying CHICOM flags.
