Back to the Good Ole Days Before Dubya?
National Review ^ | April 8, 2008 | Victor Davis Hanson

We know the critique of present American foreign policy under George W. Bush — unilateralist and preemptive — and to some extent we know Sen. Obama’s promised corrective — multilateral and reflective. So let’s take a serious look at what exactly is wrong with the former, and how things would substantially improve under the latter.

Let’s start with India. Indians poll pro-American by wide margins — due no doubt to America’s unnecessary coddling of the world’s largest democracy. If Sen. Obama acts on his complaints about the outsourcing of U.S. jobs to India and institutes his anti-NAFTA preferences in U.S. trade relations, India may finally receive the tough love it has been needing. After all, didn’t President Bush give away the nuclear game with India? Perhaps a President Obama will back out of existing agreements in order to ensure that India does not receive advanced nuclear technology. (In recompense, they’ll have little reason to complain, relatively speaking: Sen. Obama has suggested the U.S. should preemptively invade our ally Pakistan in order to hunt down Osama bin Laden.)

The only thing that was “good ole days” before President Bush was the economy. That is not enough to have the Clinton’s back or any other democrat for that matter.

America will wake up and miss our President... sooner than you think. He may have warts in all the wrong places... but the current three possibles have leprosy!

And please don't forget that Bush inherited both a mild recession and the dot-com bubble from Bubba -- along with the economic challenges following 9-11. Ah, yes, the "good ole days"! The vacation from history and responsibility.

And now Hillary is demanding that Bush boycot the opening ceremonies of the Olympics. I think he should demand that China return the missile technology handed over by the Clinton Administration for campaign donations -- and since Billary has gotten so rich since then, maybe they should pay-back the donations. Yeah, that's the ticket!

Agreed.

The libs give Clinton all the credit for the economy in the 90s. But none of them can point to one thing that Clinton did that made that economy great.

Looking back... it was more hype than a “good economy”.

The 90’s real economic boom can be credited to a guy named Bill. But his last name is either Joy or Gates.

Not going to happen. It is nothing but useless campaign rhetoric. Corporate America has decided that Americans don't really need jobs.  Any national politician dies without corporate support. It's much more important to watch what they do, than what they say.

Clinton was just lucky and reaped the benefits of the Reagan Administration as far as the economy goes. Clinton’s luck began to run out when his fiddling around with the help was discovered by everyone in America. Hope the Democrat Party is able to shake off these political parasites.
