 What utterly amazes me is that you seem to think the chants were worse than the actual events that occurred. After all, that's what you have chosen to herald here. Rather strange IMO.

I merely noted that it seemed to disturb you that chants about facing death were taking place.  You mentioned this.  You didn't mention that the kids were in fact killed.  You chose which of these realities to mention as problematic.  Am I being unfair to point that out?

I believe you have concern for the kids.  So do I.  I believe that it is possible to have concerns for the children's safety, and still be conserned for their rights and the rights of the adults.  Ripping kids out of a family setting can be very traumatic.  I would like to think there was a little more to go on than one or two phone calls from a sixteen year old to warrant what has taken place to this point.

If criminality is found, the process is probably going to be ignored.  If very little criminality is found, there are going to be some rather pointed questions for the local authorities down there to answer.

One of the things that bothers me the most about these tactics, is that folks seem to sign on to them without questions. Is this the type of law enforcement we want whenever criminality is suspected? If so, we're in for a bumpy ride.

In this case I don’t think LE “stormed” the compound. I agree, even if we think these people are nuts, we should respect their rights. If there is a legitimate concern about abuse though, the LE authorities have to investigate. Up until now, although the locals weren’t thrilled with their presence, they tolerated them.
