BREAKING NEWS UPDATE: Authorities enter Eldorado-area temple (Fundamentalist LDS cult)
Go San Angelo ^ | 5 April 08 | Paul A. Anthony

Posted on 04/06/2008 5:27:22 AM PDT by SkyPilot

Local and state officials entered the temple of a secretive polygamist sect late Saturday, said lawmen blockading the road to the YFZ Ranch near Eldorado.

The action comes hours after local prosecutors said officials were preparing for the worst because a group of FLDS members were resisting efforts to search the structure.

The Texas Department of Public Safety trooper and Schleicher County sheriff’s deputy confirmed that officials have entered the temple but said they had no word on whether anything occurred in the effort.

The incursion into the temple caps the three-day saga of the state’s Child Protective Services agency removing at least 183 women and children from the YFZ Ranch since Friday afternoon. Eighteen girls have been placed in state custody since a 16-year-old told authorities she was married to a 50-year-old man and had given birth to his child.

Saturday evening, ambulances were brought in, said Allison Palmer, who as first assistant 51st District attorney, would prosecute any felony crimes uncovered as part of the investigation inside the compound.

“In preparing for entry to the temple, law enforcement is preparing for the worst,” Palmer said Saturday evening. They want to have “medical personnel on hand in case this were to go in a way that no one wants.”

Apparently as a result of action Saturday night at the ranch, about 10:15 p.m. Saturday, a Schleicher County school bus unloaded another group of at least a dozen more women and children from the compound.

Although members of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, or FLDS, have provided varying degrees of cooperation to the sheriff’s deputies and Texas Rangers searching the compound, all cooperation stopped once authorities tried to search the gleaming white temple that towers over the West Texas scrub, Palmer said.

“There may be those who would oppose (entry) by placing themselves between law enforcement and the place of worship,” Palmer said Saturday afternoon. “If an agreement cannot be reached … law enforcement will have to — as gently and peaceably as possible — make entry into that place.”

Sect members consider the temple, dedicated by then-leader of the sect Warren Jeffs in January 2005 and finished many months later, off-limits to those who are not FLDS members, said Palmer, who prosecutes felony cases in Schleicher County.

Palmer said she didn’t know the size or makeup of the group inside the temple.

The earlier refusal to provide access was even more disconcerting because CPS investigators have yet to identify the 16-year-old girl or her roughly 8-month-old baby among the dozens removed from the compound, Palmer said.

“Anytime someone says, ‘Don’t look here,’” she said, “it makes you concerned that’s exactly where you need to look.”

The girl told authorities in two separate phone calls a day apart that she was married to a 50-year-old man, Dale Barlow, who had fathered her child, Palmer said.

The joint raid included the Texas Rangers, CPS, Schleicher County and Tom Green County sheriff’s deputies and game wardens from the Texas Department of Parks and Wildlife.

Although CPS and Department of Public Safety officials have described the compound’s residents as cooperative, Palmer disagreed.

“Things have been a little tense, a little volatile,” she said.

Authorities removed 52 children Friday afternoon and 131 women and children overnight Friday. About 40 of the children are boys, said CPS spokeswoman Marleigh Meisner.

No further children have been taken into state custody since Friday, when 18 girls were judged to have been abused or be at imminent risk for abuse. CPS has found foster homes for the girls, Meisner said, and will place them after concluding its investigation.

Meisner declined to comment on the fate of the 119 other children and said authorities were still searching the ranch for others Saturday evening.

“They’re in the process of looking,” she said. “They’re literally about halfway through.”

Jesus already paid your addmission!

EXACTLY! Thanks for affirming that YOU can do nothing!

Gee, if you can do it YOURSELF through acts of 'worthiness' why did Jesus even NEED TO DIE????? You wouldn't need Him would you?????

Galatians 2:21 - I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.

I don't see much about Jesus and his sacrifice there, but I see plenty about "earning" saving ordinances (works).

****

You forgot to mention the Temple is House of the Lord Jesus Christ and the Ordinances come from the Lord Jesus Christ

the Lord has prepared a way for them to gain a testimony of the gospel and receive the saving ordinances of the priesthood. These ordinances include baptism, confirmation, Melchizedek Priesthood ordination (for men), the endowment, the marriage sealing, and the sealing of children to parents."

"We all benefit from the influence of righteous priesthood leadership, and we all have the privilege of receiving the saving ordinances of the priesthood"

"Temple work is essential for both us and our kindred dead who are waiting for these saving ordinances to be done for them. Is there no chance for his escape?” 6 Fortunately our ancestors will have the opportunity to receive and accept the saving ordinances as we identify them and complete these sacred ordinances for them by proxy."

none of us are worthy. That was the entire POINT of the cross and resurrection. It’s simple, clear and concise. I am very sorry you are missing the point. Put the Mormon stuff away and concentrate on Jesus and his sacrifice for YOU. Try it. Just TRY IT!

What you are not grasping it is that it is NOT Mormon stuff it is the ordinance and covenants of Jesus Christ!.

The Book of Mormon is a Book the Bible is a book!

Stop distracting with title and focus on the Words of Jesus Christ which is in those Books!

How on earth can you reconcile two totally contradictory statements? It's either through Jesus or through J Smith.

If it's Smith, Jesus is a liar. If it's through Jesus, Brigham young is a liar.

They both can't be right.

Link

Follow this link for more interesting stuff.

IF you were to get an answer, it would be along the lines that there are "judges" of "different dispensations" and Smith is "assisting" in the judgement in THIS particular dispensation

From a "revelation by a Heavenly messenger" to Smith:

"Listen to the voice of Jesus Christ, your Lord, your God, and your Redeemer":

13 Unto whom I have committed the keys of my kingdom, and a dispensation of the gospel for the last times; and for the fulness of times, in the which I will gather together in all things, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth;

Revelation given to Joseph Smith the Prophet, at Harmony, Pennsylvania, August 1830. HC 1: 106–108. In preparation for a religious service at which the sacrament of bread and wine was to be administered, Joseph set out to procure wine for the occasion. He was met by a heavenly messenger and received this revelation, a portion of which was written at the time, and the remainder in the September following. Water is now used instead of wine in the sacramental services of the Church.

Remember always, that the thrust of Smith's religion was and is to convince his followers that they are the only "chosen" ones, and the only way to attain "exaltation" (to be allowed to exist in the presence of God and His Son) is be "worthy" according to the terms dictated by mormonism.

Oh, resty, I never forget.

Christ died a brutal death to give YOU a way to perform ordinances for yourself and by proxy for the dead, in order to "earn" your way to Celestial Glory.

Sick, Sick, Sick. How can you worship a christ who died to establish MORE works and MORE laws, who died so you could be enslaved by ordinances and perfection.

This is not the same Christ who died to free me from the penalties of my sin. This is not the Christ who fulfilled the law and allows me to love Him first and then to reflect that love to others unconditionally through service and sacrifice as an honor unto HIM.

I pray for your freedom, resty. I love you dear.

Those teachings come from 'scripture' from false prophets and false teachers, they have no (zip, zero, nada) authority. Your 'ordinances' are doctrines of demons.

The Book of Mormon is a Book the Bible is a book!

The Book of Mormon was penned by a false prophet and as about as much authority as the works of Homer, or Plato -- they are mythology. And it has been proven to be mythology through DNA studies which scientifically and concretely prove the native Americans are asiatic in origin and not semetic.

What happen in Eldorado rogue organization was Evil and I recent anyone here including mods thinking that was a legacy of the LDS.

Restornu, From what I understand Conservative grandma insists that you can't say that Polygamy is moral and biblical not be approving of the Child abuse (in many forms) and law breaking (again in many forms) that happened in that Texas compound.

I disagree, I have not called the mods although in several occasions I could have because, I am a big boy and am here of my own free will and choice, I have a bozo button,
bozo button
And I know how to use it on those who cross the line.

Admin moderator: I am sorry to bother you, I am not requesting your help in any way shape or form, IMHO the tactics used by my opponents sheds far more light on them than it does on me and I am happy to have them continue to display to the world their ignorance, mean spiritedness and general lack of thought (not aimed at any one poster, thanks just my general observation) I realize that you have a lot to do on these boards and the last thing you need is someone running to you for "protection", I am not asking for any, thanks, go about your business and I hope you have a pleasant day.

You think it is impossible to get your act togather....

Resty if what you mean by 'get your act together' refers to working your way to worthiness....then bear in mind that you must become 100% perfect. God demands PERFECTION.

James 2:10 - For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.

Do you understand that verse????? That verse is telling you that you can be 'worthy' 99.9% of the time but if you screw up ONCE, you're done. In other words you are to be 100% PERFECT and SINLESS. You are never going to be that Resty and you know it. When you were 2 and disobeyed your Mother (and you know you did that) you were condemned at that point.

Now if you mean by 'get my act together' that I will someday become sinless on this earth - you're right - it will never happen - which is why I NEED CHRIST. That's the REAL picture of atonement!

U Said: People read these threads - and the education you have provided is invaluable in order for people to learn what you all really are about.

What we are all about?

Simply put we are all about spreading the word that God is not dead, he has not turned his kingdom over to men, that he lives and speaks with men on earth today that he will respond to prayers and has much more than is in the Bible, instructions for today, helping people be righteous today and that everyone can have a testimony of him and his work, all you need to do is Put our religion to"the test"

This is what we are all about. Lurkers everywhere recognize a smear campaign, they have seen enough politically to recognize the tactics and hallmarks from the left. When such tactics are used on a religion, most know to ignore them and ask the adherents of the religion what they want to know.

Simply put, lurkers, we don't ask you to believe us, we ask you to ask God, read the Book of Mormon and pray about it to God compare it with the bible and if it is not of God run! when God confirms it as his own embrace. That is what we are all about.

I testify that I have taken my own advice on this and according tot he Promise in First John 4:1-3
1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:
3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.
God testified to me in unmistakable terms that The Book of Mormon is true and that Jesus is my savior, my redeemer, my God. You too can know as I do that these things are true.

This is what we are about.

Those who muck about in corners bumping into walls with their eyes closed are not to be trusted, or followed for they cannot lead you to the light, indeed, do not trust me, trust in God for he is the only one you can trust. If you wonder if you should even read the Book of Mormon, ignore all that you hear here, and pray to God in faith, he will tell you his desires for you for he will ever answer prayers of those who seek his will, this is what we are about.

Even if you are not yet ready for more of God's words, Go with god keep his words that you do have and may he be with you and prepare you for the time when you are ready, go with God my FRiends, go with God.

To lean on the Lord can be scary for some in fear it will be the wrong spirit but the Lord assures us to know him from the imitator.

It is a must that we learn to know our Master voice, the scriptures are wonderful but they can only take you so far it is Jesus and the Holy Ghost that leads you onward.

The scriptures give us a lot of clues and even when we read some passages of the NT do we feel the strong presents of the Spirit of the Lord there is none else like it.

I would say I use the Bible as a benchmark or like a drawing board.

As I would venture out I would always so back to source and if it was of God I just knew my master voice and it was a joy to recognized the many places the Lord is present!

_what kind of cult are you in, that you have so closed your mind to Jesus Christ’s doctrine and truth?

Ok dude. You have presented an abundance of doctine contrary to that of the Gospel drawn from your worship of a pseudographic work that the Holy Spirit rejected from the canon of scripture by both the Jews as well as Christianity. Further, you are unable to ellicudate real Christian doctrine from this 'other gospel' that Paul warned us about. You have refused to answer if you are drawing your theology from Prophet's book. . I can only infer that you are being influenced by her cultic doctrines.

My Jesus is not some fallen angel that God sent away to hell for eternity. Sin was not brought into this world because a fallen angel taught men to write with ink and paper. Nor does scripture support the idea of 450 foot tall creatures running around. If anyone appears to be caught up in a cult - it is you

You have yet to provide a single citation out of the alledged 100s in the NT, apart from Jude, that could have only come from Enoch - what you have provide is incoherent ramblings and repetition of items shown already to be false.

Oh, you did cut and paste the "chosen one" comment from one of the below sites. Only in luke is that particular greek word used - once (wow, huge influence). Mark and Matthew use alternate words and Luke probably is based more on Matthew and his application of Isaiah. Hence, it is not necessary to rely on Enoch for the term. It is still illogical to cite a portion of Enoch that didn't even exist at the time. You don't even know the origins of your own idol.

But this time you have finally shown the world that you are under cultic influences from the website you cut and pasted from

This is a new age based site who's message is contrary to Christianity. You accept their words at face value, not discerning the confusion and falsehoods contained within.

http://www.futurerevealed.com/enoch/enochintro.html

A site that defends the 'prophecies' of nostrademus as a source of Christian doctrine - this is a laugh.

You have accused me of relying upon skeptic materials for my rebuke of Enoch. My primary sources have been FF Bruce - noted bible scholar, A Christian Thinktank - website that provides great details, Guthrie-Intro to the NT, among other books as well as other Christian websites that I've referenced. I trust that in the future you will go to real Christian sources for your doctrine, and not seek the new age doctrine of demons.

It is a must that we learn to know our Master voice, the scriptures are wonderful but they can only take you so far...

So in other words the Bible isn't sufficient for you, you must follow something 'else'? Gotcha. Classic cult indoctrination to claim the Bible isn't sufficient and you need to listen to the cult leader. Classic satanic deception to pull you away from the real Words of God to follow after Doctrines of Demons by listening to a 'spirit' that is not God.

I Timothy 4:1 - Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;

Then how do they rationalize this?

Exodus 20:1-3 1 And God spoke all these words:

2 "I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery.

3 "You shall have no other gods before me.

Jesus said that He is the Way, the Truth, the Life, that no man comes to the Father but through Him.

Now if Jesus isn't God Himself, then putting Jesus into the equation, the necessity of coming to God the Father through Him for salvation, is putting another god before the God that gave us the Ten Commandments, is it not?

So how can they say that salvation is through Jesus when God the Father commanded that no other gods be put before HIM?

However, if Jesus is God the Father, come in the flesh, as He so clearly states, then there is no problem. Jesus is God Himself and going through Jesus is not putting another god before the Father because they are one in the same.
