Local and state officials entered the temple of a secretive polygamist sect late Saturday, said lawmen blockading the road to the YFZ Ranch near Eldorado.
The action comes hours after local prosecutors said officials were preparing for the worst because a group of FLDS members were resisting efforts to search the structure.
The Texas Department of Public Safety trooper and Schleicher County sheriff’s deputy confirmed that officials have entered the temple but said they had no word on whether anything occurred in the effort.
The incursion into the temple caps the three-day saga of the state’s Child Protective Services agency removing at least 183 women and children from the YFZ Ranch since Friday afternoon. Eighteen girls have been placed in state custody since a 16-year-old told authorities she was married to a 50-year-old man and had given birth to his child.
Saturday evening, ambulances were brought in, said Allison Palmer, who as first assistant 51st District attorney, would prosecute any felony crimes uncovered as part of the investigation inside the compound.
“In preparing for entry to the temple, law enforcement is preparing for the worst,” Palmer said Saturday evening. They want to have “medical personnel on hand in case this were to go in a way that no one wants.”
Apparently as a result of action Saturday night at the ranch, about 10:15 p.m. Saturday, a Schleicher County school bus unloaded another group of at least a dozen more women and children from the compound.
Although members of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, or FLDS, have provided varying degrees of cooperation to the sheriff’s deputies and Texas Rangers searching the compound, all cooperation stopped once authorities tried to search the gleaming white temple that towers over the West Texas scrub, Palmer said.
“There may be those who would oppose (entry) by placing themselves between law enforcement and the place of worship,” Palmer said Saturday afternoon. “If an agreement cannot be reached … law enforcement will have to — as gently and peaceably as possible — make entry into that place.”
Sect members consider the temple, dedicated by then-leader of the sect Warren Jeffs in January 2005 and finished many months later, off-limits to those who are not FLDS members, said Palmer, who prosecutes felony cases in Schleicher County.
Palmer said she didn’t know the size or makeup of the group inside the temple.
The earlier refusal to provide access was even more disconcerting because CPS investigators have yet to identify the 16-year-old girl or her roughly 8-month-old baby among the dozens removed from the compound, Palmer said.
“Anytime someone says, ‘Don’t look here,’” she said, “it makes you concerned that’s exactly where you need to look.”
The girl told authorities in two separate phone calls a day apart that she was married to a 50-year-old man, Dale Barlow, who had fathered her child, Palmer said.
The joint raid included the Texas Rangers, CPS, Schleicher County and Tom Green County sheriff’s deputies and game wardens from the Texas Department of Parks and Wildlife.
Although CPS and Department of Public Safety officials have described the compound’s residents as cooperative, Palmer disagreed.
“Things have been a little tense, a little volatile,” she said.
Authorities removed 52 children Friday afternoon and 131 women and children overnight Friday. About 40 of the children are boys, said CPS spokeswoman Marleigh Meisner.
No further children have been taken into state custody since Friday, when 18 girls were judged to have been abused or be at imminent risk for abuse. CPS has found foster homes for the girls, Meisner said, and will place them after concluding its investigation.
Meisner declined to comment on the fate of the 119 other children and said authorities were still searching the ranch for others Saturday evening.
“They’re in the process of looking,” she said. “They’re literally about halfway through.”

Oh but it is. Investigation is a life-long process, things you didn't know then you find out later. You buy a car, dealer says it is good, nice and shiny, you drive it and later, bit by bit it comes apart. What you didn't know was that the dealer lied to you, that it was hurricane salvage. Do you continue on believing the salesman or not. Many now ex mormons continued their investigation and found that Smith was like the car salesman - he lied to them and gave them a pile of junk to drive.
Childish am I? Well now, I’m not the one changing the meanings of words so that it fits my pre-conceived viewpoint, nor am I the one who changes the grammatical construction of verbs from past tense into present tense to support my own pre-conceived dogma. Do that in an English class and expect an F grade, then tell the teacher she’s childish. I dare you.
There is nothing about the Church that I haven’t heard I was very good at doing my homework and talking to the Lord for understanding of his ways!
I had turn over every rock you could think of and my faith is as strong as ever.
Two things should do is to pray daily, and study their scriptures and the Spirit of the Lord will be with you!
Is it proper for the prophet to tell the followers one thing and do the direct opposite? Why can't your gods make up their minds?

The very nature of the deity in question is hardly a "little quibble."
That comes from observation and reading resty - alway learning.
Reading 1 Nephi 31:8-10.
8 Wherefore, after he was baptized with water the Holy Ghost descended upon him in the aform of a dove.

I note that this was supposed to have been written between 559-545 BC. This would be some 600 years before Jesus was baptized and begun His earthly work. Yet in verse 8 it refers to the event in the past tense and verse 10 about the need to follow Jesus. How do you account for this anachronism resty?

So says Jude. Jude got his information from the book of Enoch 1, as Peter also did.
The spirits in prison did not have good news given them by Jesus Christ, but rather they heard and saw the finish of His work, from below, where they were chained since the time of Noah’s flood; and which work of the redemption of Adam those angels tried to thwart by the pollution of the gene pool.
Because the Son of Man is come in flesh of second creation, [and who is YHWH come in flesh as Kinsman to redeem Adam and Adam’s lost inheritance]; therefore the evil schemes of the fallen angels will come to the end that they were told they would, by Enoch.
Enoch went to heaven and received the words of the doom of the damned reprobates -the sons of heaven- who were damned by mutual consent when they determined to take wives of daughters born of Adam. The sons they got by fornication [the marrying of the daughters of Adam was called fornication], were also damned for eternity, with no hope for redemption and no hope for their stolen flesh of Adam bodies to rise again, in the resurrection.
Otherwise, all souls/persons born in Adam were and are born dead in spirit and dead in body; born dead to the Glory of God indwelling, since the fall of our first father.
To live again as sons of God [which Adam was made to be -Luke 3:38; Malachi 2:15- before the fall, a person born in Adam [the dead son] must be born again, a second time, into the One Living Spirit of the second and only living human being Son of God.
Only by being born of His One Living Spirit while you have your being intact, can you be assured of being born again in the body of immortality at the resurrection. Both the second birth of Spirit and the second birth of body are called “the adoption”, in the Word; and it is adoption into the name of the New Man; who, alone, inherits the earth which was first made for “Adam and ben Adam”, and unites it with the regenerated heavens, when He regenerates it at the appointed time.
The body is dead because of sin, says the Word of God, and those who receive the Gospel get baptized for that dead body, to subject it in hope of the resurrection in Christ, which is the message of 1 Cor 15 and which is why the dead Adam is subjected to baptism, in obedience to the Gospel of Christ which the “dead in sin souls” receive.
The Adam flesh your soul wears is dead, and you will never have the regeneration of that body to Life, in it’s resurrection [and regeneraton of it into the image of the New Man] if you are not born again in Spirit while your soul is dwelling in that dead body.
That is the hope of the Gospel of Christ, which hope we who are born again in Christ’s One Living Spirit, have. We have the hope of the resurrection to life, in His image.

Humping angels in Enoch and the size of the Tower of Babel in Jasher are two good examples of why we must take apocrypha with a grain of salt. (Yes, I've read them both along with most others you might name.)

Jasher is not part of the Apochrypha. It is just a chronicle of the tribes of Adam, from him on down through Abraham, Isaac, and Moses. It stops when Joshua enters Canaan, and then the histories continue, in Joshua, Judges, Samuel, Kings, Chronicles, Ruth, Ezra, Nehemiah, and Esther.
The Tower of Babel’s size, as described in the Book of Jasher, after one third destroyed by earthquake, one third destroyed by fire, and one third left, was a three days walk around it -so?
That the sons of God took daughters of Adam as stated in Enoch 1, and caused the earth to become so corrupt that the first consumation of sin on earth was sent by the flood, is the record which Moses had; and which record Moses redacted the information he shared, when he wrote Genesis.
The longer stories of those things which Moses mentions are explained, with the dates and ages and names and places, in the book of Jasher.
I bring these up because those two books were fully used and accepted,and are both used for information which is in the OT and th NT; and Enoch was called a prophet of God, and nothing he writes in Enoch 1 contradicts one thing in the OT or NT, but does explains much., With those two books -which anyone can read for themselves today- all false doctrines taught by any religion which uses the OT and or NT, are fully refuted.
False religions make much of using the OT and or NT, but they twist them into unrecognizable forms to confound and confuse the simple minded -or the willing to be misled ones- but they are shown to be false when the books mentioned are brought into the light, for comparison to the OT and NT; for they preceded all and leave no room for falsifying either the OT or the NT.
Call it sixty miles in circumference. One building. That's big.
