Local and state officials entered the temple of a secretive polygamist sect late Saturday, said lawmen blockading the road to the YFZ Ranch near Eldorado.
The action comes hours after local prosecutors said officials were preparing for the worst because a group of FLDS members were resisting efforts to search the structure.
The Texas Department of Public Safety trooper and Schleicher County sheriffs deputy confirmed that officials have entered the temple but said they had no word on whether anything occurred in the effort.
The incursion into the temple caps the three-day saga of the states Child Protective Services agency removing at least 183 women and children from the YFZ Ranch since Friday afternoon. Eighteen girls have been placed in state custody since a 16-year-old told authorities she was married to a 50-year-old man and had given birth to his child.
Saturday evening, ambulances were brought in, said Allison Palmer, who as first assistant 51st District attorney, would prosecute any felony crimes uncovered as part of the investigation inside the compound.
In preparing for entry to the temple, law enforcement is preparing for the worst, Palmer said Saturday evening. They want to have medical personnel on hand in case this were to go in a way that no one wants.
Apparently as a result of action Saturday night at the ranch, about 10:15 p.m. Saturday, a Schleicher County school bus unloaded another group of at least a dozen more women and children from the compound.
Although members of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, or FLDS, have provided varying degrees of cooperation to the sheriffs deputies and Texas Rangers searching the compound, all cooperation stopped once authorities tried to search the gleaming white temple that towers over the West Texas scrub, Palmer said.
There may be those who would oppose (entry) by placing themselves between law enforcement and the place of worship, Palmer said Saturday afternoon. If an agreement cannot be reached law enforcement will have to as gently and peaceably as possible make entry into that place.
Sect members consider the temple, dedicated by then-leader of the sect Warren Jeffs in January 2005 and finished many months later, off-limits to those who are not FLDS members, said Palmer, who prosecutes felony cases in Schleicher County.
Palmer said she didnt know the size or makeup of the group inside the temple.
The earlier refusal to provide access was even more disconcerting because CPS investigators have yet to identify the 16-year-old girl or her roughly 8-month-old baby among the dozens removed from the compound, Palmer said.
Anytime someone says, Dont look here, she said, it makes you concerned thats exactly where you need to look.
The girl told authorities in two separate phone calls a day apart that she was married to a 50-year-old man, Dale Barlow, who had fathered her child, Palmer said.
The joint raid included the Texas Rangers, CPS, Schleicher County and Tom Green County sheriffs deputies and game wardens from the Texas Department of Parks and Wildlife.
Although CPS and Department of Public Safety officials have described the compounds residents as cooperative, Palmer disagreed.
Things have been a little tense, a little volatile, she said.
Authorities removed 52 children Friday afternoon and 131 women and children overnight Friday. About 40 of the children are boys, said CPS spokeswoman Marleigh Meisner.
No further children have been taken into state custody since Friday, when 18 girls were judged to have been abused or be at imminent risk for abuse. CPS has found foster homes for the girls, Meisner said, and will place them after concluding its investigation.
Meisner declined to comment on the fate of the 119 other children and said authorities were still searching the ranch for others Saturday evening.
Theyre in the process of looking, she said. Theyre literally about halfway through.
Yep.
Think about this.... Piano players don't get Carpal Tunnel syndrome.
It has NOTHING to do with repetitive motions of the fingers. It is mostly caused by fluid retention causing a compression of the median nerve in the carpal tunnel. Eliminate the fluid and you eliminate the problem.
From the National Instutue of Neurological Disorders and Stroke:
There is little clinical data to prove whether repetitive and forceful movements of the hand and wrist during work or leisure activities can cause carpal tunnel syndrome. Repeated motions performed in the course of normal work or other daily activities can result in repetitive motion disorders such as bursitis and tendonitis. Writer's cramp - a condition in which a lack of fine motor skill coordination and ache and pressure in the fingers, wrist, or forearm is brought on by repetitive activity - is not a symptom of carpal tunnel syndrome.
That's the best way anybody has put it yet. Great job.
My stupid doctor prescribed prednisone for rosacea when I first was diagnosed back in the early 90’s. (I still have it if you have any suggestions Dr. P)
After the first week I went to my pharmacist and asked if wanting to kill people was a side effect. He told me to stop taking it pronto!
Now this is interesting Godzilla. Remember in one my previous 'debate contests' with DU he claimed (more than once) that he could not speak Greek?????? Now he claims to be an expert????? LOL!!! I think we just caught him lying red-handed again :)
Exodus 20
1 And God spoke all these words:
2 "I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery.
3 "You shall have no other gods before me.
4 "You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. 5 You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, 6 but showing love to a thousand {generations} of those who love me and keep my commandments.
7 "You shall not misuse the name of the LORD your God, for the LORD will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses his name.
8 "Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. 9 Six days you shall labor and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the LORD your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your manservant or maidservant, nor your animals, nor the alien within your gates. 11 For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.
12 "Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the LORD your God is giving you.
13 "You shall not murder.
14 "You shall not commit adultery.
15 "You shall not steal.
16 "You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor.
17 "You shall not covet your neighbor's house. You shall not covet your neighbor's wife, or his manservant or maidservant, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor."

I didn't know your name was Pronto.
Are you related to Tonto?
My ex-wife had carpal tunnel surgey in B’ham. She was cured! Would you like the name of the clinic?... I think she would talk to me to relay that data.
I guess we can also retire ...

The false prophet Joseph Smith said that he was greater than Jesus...
Ande the mormons worship Joseph Smith instead of God...
Kimosabe
We need to find an OT example of someone who did something like this and lived to tell about it, someone who God blessed anyway.
Doesn’t Hezekiah work for that one? I think some of the kings after David had done some idol worship at some point during their lives.
“Has God “changed his mind” about certain practices?”
This is a question that I have spent a lot of time contemplating, given that He appears to do that very thing at certain points in the Bible. It seems to me that when conteplating God’s relationship towards us, it helps to understand it by looking at our relationship with OUR children.
We set certain rules that we expect our children to obey. God sets certain rules He expects us to obey.
We have greater wisdom than our children, thus are more capable of determining the occassions in which exceptions are made, when we will allow them to disregard the normal rules. Once again, it is the same with God in making such determinations with us.
Unless we specifically tell our children that an exception can be made, we expect them to obey the normal rules. God does the same with us.
As our Children mature, our expectations from them change. Same with God and us.
As our children mature, we grant greater privledges, allowing them to do things we did not allow when they were younger. As our children mature, we also expect stricter adherence to certain standards of behavior. But once again, such decisions are not given to our children to make... we make the decisions as to the changes as they mature. God does the same with us.
To summarize, it seems likely to me that the explanation for why God allows exceptions at certain times, or seems to change the rules on occassion, is based upon His wisdom, and we are in no position to make the determinations ourselves, nor are we in a position to second guess his decisions in this regard.
Quite an informative article here. Maybe there’s a thread on it.

Yep you are quite the cut out artist DU. You say mankind has been doing it forever in a effort to justify your little joey, knowing full well that the context properly was that he reintroduced to pleasure himself and others of his cabal got in on the deal too. You actually keep hiding behind the fig leaf of it is alright be it
1. Done in the Bible (irregardless of the lack of Gods approval), some how makes it moral in the Christian era (psst take a hint, we aren't in the patriarch era any more)
2. Everyone does it over all time therefore it is justified, you know mountain men, mormons, indians (oops Lamanites)
3. Why is every one picking on poor little joey
You don't seem to argue with a point in mind you attempt to beat people to death with large posts,
Want a waaaaambulance DU? You post big to me, you better expect in kind in return.
I've read your post, your are still wrong, all you seem to care about is dragging Joseph Smith through the mud, even if it's not valid.
See #3 above - poor joey. One issue that comes to mind when mormonism is mentioned - polygamy, and who is the originator of polygamy in the mormon church - you guessed it - joey. Thats right sports fans, this epitome of every thing good was in reality an abuser of women, as well as the members of mormonism. The impeachable prophet is shown to be what he really is - a debase, power hungry pervert who gives the members one word from god - polygamy is not allowed and we follow the law - while out the other side of his mouth he is coercing parents to give him their daughters to bed/wed. I've provided a lot of evidence and proof here - you just do the tbm 'not listening' routine. :0
All your posts seem to center on him, not on the topic at hand. I am refuting without listing your mistakes and moving on to shorter posts, yours just take to much time for an amateur (someone who is not paid to bash) posters to tackle on a daily basis.
I'm shocked, shocked I tell you, to read how bragged about answering the really long posts........now you are executing you monty python maneuver. Refuting with listing - what a lame counter DU, thats called retiring. But then I'm just your humble theologian just sitting around in my underware all day getting paid for all this. Sadly, DU this is spot on topic. These mormons are faithfully following the teachings of smith, doing what you call moral behavior.
Typical, amorphous, well someone said bla bla bla response. The greek tools commentaries and references are readily available. Not lying, but displaying gross ignorance of the subject.
Sick doesn't begin to describe this...evil I tell ya.
If the reports of fraudulent application for food assistance is true, metmom, you can also strike through “You shalt not steal”.
