BREAKING NEWS UPDATE: Authorities enter Eldorado-area temple (Fundamentalist LDS cult)
Go San Angelo ^ | 5 April 08 | Paul A. Anthony

Posted on 04/06/2008 5:27:22 AM PDT by SkyPilot

Local and state officials entered the temple of a secretive polygamist sect late Saturday, said lawmen blockading the road to the YFZ Ranch near Eldorado.

The action comes hours after local prosecutors said officials were preparing for the worst because a group of FLDS members were resisting efforts to search the structure.

The Texas Department of Public Safety trooper and Schleicher County sheriff’s deputy confirmed that officials have entered the temple but said they had no word on whether anything occurred in the effort.

The incursion into the temple caps the three-day saga of the state’s Child Protective Services agency removing at least 183 women and children from the YFZ Ranch since Friday afternoon. Eighteen girls have been placed in state custody since a 16-year-old told authorities she was married to a 50-year-old man and had given birth to his child.

Saturday evening, ambulances were brought in, said Allison Palmer, who as first assistant 51st District attorney, would prosecute any felony crimes uncovered as part of the investigation inside the compound.

“In preparing for entry to the temple, law enforcement is preparing for the worst,” Palmer said Saturday evening. They want to have “medical personnel on hand in case this were to go in a way that no one wants.”

Apparently as a result of action Saturday night at the ranch, about 10:15 p.m. Saturday, a Schleicher County school bus unloaded another group of at least a dozen more women and children from the compound.

Although members of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, or FLDS, have provided varying degrees of cooperation to the sheriff’s deputies and Texas Rangers searching the compound, all cooperation stopped once authorities tried to search the gleaming white temple that towers over the West Texas scrub, Palmer said.

“There may be those who would oppose (entry) by placing themselves between law enforcement and the place of worship,” Palmer said Saturday afternoon. “If an agreement cannot be reached … law enforcement will have to — as gently and peaceably as possible — make entry into that place.”

Sect members consider the temple, dedicated by then-leader of the sect Warren Jeffs in January 2005 and finished many months later, off-limits to those who are not FLDS members, said Palmer, who prosecutes felony cases in Schleicher County.

Palmer said she didn’t know the size or makeup of the group inside the temple.

The earlier refusal to provide access was even more disconcerting because CPS investigators have yet to identify the 16-year-old girl or her roughly 8-month-old baby among the dozens removed from the compound, Palmer said.

“Anytime someone says, ‘Don’t look here,’” she said, “it makes you concerned that’s exactly where you need to look.”

The girl told authorities in two separate phone calls a day apart that she was married to a 50-year-old man, Dale Barlow, who had fathered her child, Palmer said.

The joint raid included the Texas Rangers, CPS, Schleicher County and Tom Green County sheriff’s deputies and game wardens from the Texas Department of Parks and Wildlife.

Although CPS and Department of Public Safety officials have described the compound’s residents as cooperative, Palmer disagreed.

“Things have been a little tense, a little volatile,” she said.

Authorities removed 52 children Friday afternoon and 131 women and children overnight Friday. About 40 of the children are boys, said CPS spokeswoman Marleigh Meisner.

No further children have been taken into state custody since Friday, when 18 girls were judged to have been abused or be at imminent risk for abuse. CPS has found foster homes for the girls, Meisner said, and will place them after concluding its investigation.

Meisner declined to comment on the fate of the 119 other children and said authorities were still searching the ranch for others Saturday evening.

“They’re in the process of looking,” she said. “They’re literally about halfway through.”

Because of Sarah and her doubting God, we have the descendants of Ishmael. The fight between the descendants of Sarah and Hagar are still going on.

Why don't you read what Jesus told Joseph... Why can't ANY of you Mormons just TELL a person?
Is it THAT arcane??

Why do you just post your spam, and not know what's in the rest of the verses.

OK, you asked, I will post what was said:

Joseph Smith History of First Vision: :“they draw near to me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me, they teach for doctrines the commandments of men, having a form of godliness, but they deny the power thereof.”

Isaiah 29:
10 For the Lord hath poured out upon you the spirit of deep sleep, and hath closed your eyes: the prophets and your rulers, the seers hath he covered.
11 And the vision of all is become unto you as the words of a book that is sealed, which men deliver to one that is learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I cannot; for it is sealed:
12 And the book is delivered to him that is not learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I am not learned.
13 ¶ Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honor me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men:
14 Therefore, behold, I will proceed to do a marvelous work among this people, even a marvellous work and a wonder: for the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, and the understanding of their prudent men shall be hid.

“Do you honestly believe a 16 year old girl really wanted to be married to a 50 year old man?”

No.

Now, do you honestly believe that there is a sixteen year old girl, with an approx. 8 month old baby neither of which have been found after several days?

I am not convinced that the phone calls were not a hoax for some other reason.

Physical yes. Jesus was resurrected, and showed his flesh and bone body to his disciples. He ate fish and honeycomb. They felt His wounds. He lives!

I try not to spam like you do. If you want the whole thing, here ya go.

23 But the word of God burdens me because of your grosser crimes. For behold, thus saith the Lord: This people begin to wax in iniquity; they understand not the scriptures, for they seek to excuse themselves in committing awhoredoms, because of the things which were written concerning David, and Solomon his son.
24 Behold, David and aSolomon truly had many bwives and concubines, which thing was cabominable before me, saith the Lord.
25 Wherefore, thus saith the Lord, I have led this people forth out of the land of Jerusalem, by the power of mine arm, that I might raise up unto me a arighteous branch from the fruit of the loins of Joseph.
26 Wherefore, I the Lord God will not suffer that this people shall do like unto them of old.
27 Wherefore, my brethren, hear me, and hearken to the word of the Lord: For there shall not any aman among you have save it be bone cwife; and concubines he shall have none;
28 For I, the Lord God, delight in the achastity of women. And bwhoredoms are an abomination before me; thus saith the Lord of Hosts.
29 Wherefore, this people shall keep my commandments, saith the Lord of Hosts, or acursed be the land for their sakes.
30 For if I will, saith the Lord of Hosts, raise up aseed unto me, I will command my people; otherwise they shall hearken unto these things.
31 For behold, I, the Lord, have seen the sorrow, and heard the mourning of the daughters of my people in the land of Jerusalem, yea, and in all the lands of my people, because of the wickedness and aabominations of their bhusbands.
32 And I will not suffer, saith the Lord of Hosts, that the cries of the fair daughters of this people, which I have led out of the land of Jerusalem, shall come up unto me against the men of my people, saith the Lord of Hosts.
33 For they shall not lead away captive the daughters of my people because of their tenderness, save I shall visit them with a sore curse, even unto destruction; for they shall not commit awhoredoms, like unto them of old, saith the Lord of Hosts.
34 And now behold, my brethren, ye know that these commandments were given to our afather, Lehi; wherefore, ye have known them before; and ye have come unto great condemnation; for ye have done these things which ye ought not to have done.
35 Behold, ye have done agreater iniquities than the Lamanites, our brethren. Ye have broken the hearts of your tender wives, and lost the confidence of your children, because of your bad examples before them; and the sobbings of their hearts ascend up to God against you. And because of the bstrictness of the word of God, which cometh down against you, many hearts died, pierced with deep wounds.

Yes, it was the great intercessory prayer. He prayed that they would be one, as He was with the Father.

He didn’t come back from the garden to find one creature with 24 heads, 48 arms and legs, etc.

That sort of beast is only found in Revelations. ;-)

Thanks for the very informed commentary. I’m impressed. I don’t think we disagree by that much...perhaps only on the definition of “condone” that we’re using and on the role that a “representative group” of Christians should have in defining my faith.

I’m using “condone” in the “make allowances for” sense. I think it’s clear that God realized that slavery was a part of the culture (that some people even chose at one time to sell their daughters into slavery), and that it was necessary to make allowances for the practice by instituting some ordinances, as in Exodus 21.

In any event, you have a good one. And don’t listen too closely to that “representative group” of Christians...

“I keep returning to this thread to learn about the young girl and all I seem to get are religious wars.”

It confuses me as well, it seems that the cult is as universally despised, as most of us naturally assumed.

The second video down at this link will help you understand why a thread about child-molesting polygamists of the latter day saints movement, would get derailed.

Here is a list of the various sects of the Latter Day Saint Movement. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_sects_in_the_Latter_Day_Saint_movement

I want to know the last book because if it isn’t Revelations how do you get past that don’t add or take away part?

The answer is pretty simple, but I'll elaborate, because I think this is really imprtant. A careful reading of the words makes it clear that the warning against adding to or taking away does not refer to the whole Bible or even to the New Testament, but to use John’s words, only to the words of “the book of this prophecy.” That is, the prophecy contained in the book of Revelation. This is substantiated by the fact that some of the books of the New Testament had not yet been written when John wrote the book of Revelation, and even those that had been written and were in existence at that time had not yet been gathered into the bible as we know it.

It is also interesting to note that John himself added to scripture after writing the book of Revelation, which is generally conceded to have been written while he was on the Isle of Patmos.

In the Old Testament also are found similar warnings and commands that there shall not be taken away or added to the words that were written. The first is found in Deuteronomy, written at the time Moses was exhorting Israel to live the law of the Lord. Moses wrote:

“Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you.” (Deut. 4:2.)

Later in this same book of the law, Moses repeated the admonition in similar words. He said,

“What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it.” (Deut. 12:32.)

If the same interpretation and argument was applied to them as is applied to the closing verses of the book of Revelation, there would be no scripture after the writings of Moses.

A distinctive sign of the last days that will precede the eventual second coming of the Lord was seen in vision by that same Apostle who recorded the book of Revelation. He said:

“I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people.” (Rev. 14:6.)

The fact that John saw a messenger from God reveal anew the Gospel of Christ speaks volumes against the interpretation given by some modern Christians.

Hope this helps understand our view.

Luk 7:28 For I say unto you, Among those that are born of women there is not a greater prophet than John the Baptist: but he that is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.

The Son of Man is the second Person in the Triune YHWH, and is the Living Spirit come in flesh of a second human being creation. The body He is come incarnate in was prepared new -not of Adam- in the womb of a virgin, who was herself an offspring of David.
Being born of her womb, He has the legal right to David’s throne.
Not being born of the dead [-dead as a son of God] spirit of Adam, but by coning incarnate in the flesh of a New Creation Human Being, He had the legal right [as a brother], the power, and the will, to do the duty of Kinsman to all Adam kind, and to ransom the kingdom sold into sin and corruption [by our first father].

Though He was subject to Mary and Joseph as a son [until He entered into His ministry of Firstborn of earth], He is not ‘the son of Mary‘, but is “the Son of the Woman” who is called Zion, in the Word of God, which Woman is the personified Zion above, of the spiritual realm [New Jerusalem], and which Zion is called the City of God.
That heavenly City is being built on the Chief Foundation Stone laid in Zion at the incarnation [Haggai chapter 2]. Zion above is the “mother of us all”, who are redeemed by the Firstborn of earth. He is our “Everlasting Father -Isaiah 9, by adoption into His Living Spirit [which is called being born from above, in John 3].

We are dead in Adam, since the fall, and YHWH, second Person [the Word], is come in flesh of second creation as our Redeemer/Kinsman to bring us back to the unseen Father by His Atonement.
If you want to know more about the incarnation and who He is, I’ll be happy to defend the position I have, from the Word of God.

This mormon site says that believe some of it.

“What Do Mormons Believe About The Bible?
Mormons believe the Bible to be the word of God. It was divinely inspired and written by prophets of God. It contains the gospel of Jesus Christ. The Bible is not the whole of the word of God. There have been other prophets in the history of the world and Mormons believe there are prophets today. Their words are also divinely inspired and never contradict the Bible. The Bible as it presently exists is a construction of the councils of men and has undergone countless transcriptions and several translations. Mormons believe that in the intervening 2,000 years the essential gospel remained but several finer points of doctrine have been altered or omitted on occasion and interpreted to suit the desires of those in power. Mormons believe that the Joseph Smith Translation of the Bible restored these changes and is a more correct version than any other. Mormons also believe in divine scripture in addition to the Bible. In the Mormon canon are the Bible, the Book of Mormon, the Doctrine and Covenants, and the Pearl of Great Price.”

Yeah, you are right. I tend to lump those 3 together, as in the “God of Abraham, Issac and Jacob”. I believe Jacob had 4 wives, from whence sprang the 12 tribes. Leah, Rachel, Bilhah and Zilpah.
