Nope, Conservative. Right now he's between a rock and a hard place for two reasons. First, commenting on a case that is before a hearing is a no-no for a Minister. Second, if the Tories do anything to rein in the HRC all of the usual suspects will scream "racism". The best strategy right now is to allow these trials to proceed as a way of generating public pressure against the CHRC, then allowing a Liberal bill to repeal the "hate speech" law to pass.
