This is what really worries me. I’ve lived long enough to be aware of all kinds of different conflicts in the world. I’ve never felt the sense of foreboding that I do now.

We need really stable, smart, and ethical people at the helm. We also need people willing to be strong and to do the right thing regardless of whatever the agendas may be.

And we have NONE of those to chose from this election!

I remember some years ago talking with my Department Head - a really good officer - who said that when war starts all the bs rules go out the window. Also, I have read enough about wars and conflicts to realize that as Admiral King stated in December 1941 - when the s**t hits the fan, that's when they call for the sob's. The inept and incompetant are discarded and the cream rises to the top. And it's usually the guys - and gals - that have been passed over, that didn't play ball, that didn't ass kiss their way to the top.

I too feel that something awaits around the bend and it ain't going to be pretty. In a strange sort of way, I kind of welcome it. I'm not a he-man type and while I believe in the 2nd Amendment I do not own guns and know extremely little about them. However, I do believe that we are sort of humming along on auto-pilot and too many good people are discarded for the back-slappers and ass kissers. Something bad is going to happen and I believe it will cause massive destruction in the United States. But like I said, I kind of welcome it because it shakes things out. The majority of us will look for leadership and will quickly turn against the incompetants.
