A vote for McCain is a vote to convince candidates that conservatives can be taken for granted and are irrelevant. I suppose that is a message some would like to send. Others would like conservatism to be considered relevant.

It's very difficult to object to this line of reasoning. And, for me, the question has now moved beyond John McCain. The GOP majority has spoken, and my issue is now with that party. I will certainly work for Conservatives, whatever their party affiliations; but I now increasingly find it difficult to identify with Pub presidential politics. I was independent for many years, and I'm very likely headed there again.
