Hi there!
It looks like there are 10 men in this immediate group.
I’ve asked his Mom to contact him for any special requests they may have.
If anyone wants to contribute to a package, anything sent across the border must be valued at less than $20, and be marked as a gift, otherwise, brokerage charges and sales tax will be applied.
I can also buy things here if you prefer, and post an accounting here.
I am still not sure about postage, as the Canada Post web site says it pays if you are a FRiend or relative. The last small package I sent I had to pay about $11, as the postal lady wasn’t familiar with the program, and said the web site is often wrong.
I am just thinking out loud, as I don’t have confirmation yet.
Email from NPTT at FOB Falcon! This soldier and I share a love of science fiction and history. For privacy I have edited our discussion of the philosophies in the books.
Hey Patty,
Sorry about how long it has taken to respond. We have been spending most of our time at a Combat Outpost (COP) and internet connectivity isn’t the best. Frequently the satellite dish goes out and when it is up, it is very slooooow.
We did indeed get the cans of potato chips. I have never heard of most of these flavors. My guys very much enjoyed them. Please give her [mathluv] our thanks for the thoughtul package.
I read Red Mars already. I thought it was a very good book. Although I’m not too sure about some of the social aspects of the book. ...
I am now reading ...The Gods Themselves. I haven’t gotten too far into it, but so far the story is very fascinating. I had a hard time putting it down last night. I did have a hard time turning off the light last night, but fortunately today is an easy day at the FOB. I have heard of the History of English Speaking Peoples and very much look forward to reading it. I have also heard about John Adams. Someone recently told me that it was a very good mini series.
I really can’t think of anything that we might need right away. The Corn Nuts [from JustAmy] were delicious though. That went really quick.
Thanks for everything!.
