BOOK BUMP! (I’m off to work; will check in tonight.)
Here are my contributions, for what they’re worth. This time of year starts my busy season at work. 60 hour weeks are not uncommon, so the “heavier” reading I do in the slower winter months are replaced by lighter fare:
“Stalin’s Ghost” - The last Arkady Renko novel by Martin Cruise Smith (Man, I love him. All of his novels are so different, and so interesting!)
“From Garden to Vase” - by Linda Beutler - Sort of work-related, but it shows you how to grow and use a lot of cut flowers, foliage, berries, branches, etc. in floral displays.
“Designing With Succulents” - by Debra Lee Baldwin. A GORGEOUS book using succulent plants (like cactus, but not as prickly) in your garden. Amazingly, you can use a lot of succulents even in cold climates, which I did not know.
“Having a Mary Heart in a Martha World” - by Joann Weaver. Highly recommended for ANY busy woman. It shows you how to slow down and pay attention to God’s design for your life while you’re trying to be ‘Everything to Everyone.’ (Come on! You know you’re guilty of this, Ladies!)
“A Shop of One’s Own” - Compiled by ‘Victoria’ Magazine. Women talk about their shops, their inspirations, how they succeeded, etc. Also work related, but someday... :)
