Thanks. I know what you’re referencing now. I agree with your comments.

The teacher’s union initiatives were of utmost importance. Too bad.

Over the last 60 years, unions have had a very destructive effect on this nation.

Glad to hear it. I had erroneously thought that the “Section 8” housing advertised in Spanish was aimed at illegal immigrants.

a legal immigrant

Are you sure?

The basis for naturalized citizenship in 1983 was an oath swearing sole allegiance to the US. Swearing allegiance to the US cost Schwarzenegger his Austrian citizenship. In 1989, because of his celebrity, strings were pulled in Austria and Austrian citizenship was reinstated, and accepted, thereby breaking the written, 1983, US oath.

I my book he's out and should face a choice. Renounce his Austrian citizenship or face deportation.

That’s an intersting premice, one that I had not heard before. I might be in full agreement with a bit more study on it.

He’s right. The fault lies entirely with tax&spend legislators who pander to those looking for free hand-outs (such as illegal immigrants, although they’re not the only ones.)

"Over the last 60 years, unions have had a very destructive effect on this nation."

I make a major distinction between private sector unions and public sector yoonyuns! The private sector chumps have been dryin up and are almost blown away!

It's the burgeoning public sector yoonyuns that are completely out of control and virtually running our multi-level governments!!! Especially, the state and local levels!!!

That’s a good point. I will say though that the private sector unions had a very destructive effect on the auto and steel industry.

Color me biased, but I do not believe in public sector labor unions. Police, fire, teachers, physicians, nurses and others should not belong to unions IMO.

Being government workers, it seems to be a conflict of interest for them to be able to hold the public hostage until their demands are met.

From what I have observed, these public unions also oppose what is best for the state in many instances, choosing self-interest above every other concern.

Perhaps it’s time to start contracting out these public jobs to private interests. The massive unions could be broken up in this manner and non-union shops replacing the power grabbing union shops.

If illegals were not given education and medical care...if not recieving food stamps and other sevices...we'd probably be running a surplus.

the guv is either lying or insane.

I’d vote in favor of a ten to twenty year moratorium. Even that wouldn’t get my area back to normal.

I don’t think we’re being told the true full extent of the immigration numbers. Things are changing so rapidly over such a broad area, that it just seems impossible that the stated rates of immigration could cause it all.

Since the middle of the Clinton years, it’s been my suspicion that the stats in a number of areas were being fudged or manipulated to prevent the populace from know what was really taking place with manufacturing, immigration, welfare, unemployment... and some other areas as well.

We were getting entirely too nosey.

For instance, with regard to welfare, there are so many different categories and programs today that it’s next to impossible to know how much the welfare tab is. Some of it is couched as employment when it’s really not. This reaches across lines to blur the employment figure. And when it comes to manufacturing, what specific things are considered to be manufacturing today? I suspect we’re being jobbed across the board.

$14 bill deficit; $10 bill in services to illegals. Second state with a blind governor.

I can’t remember the source, it was a radio program. Calif actually spends $200 bill a year including federal funds and $25 bill goes to services for crimmigrants.

Another cost of illegals:

LA knee deep in gang shootings, a sanctuary city for illegals and building gang membership. A mayor who's running around with Hillary and proud of his Sanctuary City status.

Monday night OReilly covered the murder of a black kid who was a high school football star in LA. Had a great future and would at least get a college scholarship. Two Mexican kids drove up in a car and shot him dead on the street after he told them he wasn't in a gang.

OR revealed that the shooter got out of jail the day before and he was illegal. Instead of being in Mexico, he was in LA killing this kid. LA is a sanctuary city don't you know. The head co-conspirator, the mayor of LA appeared on the street at the site and gave a press conference denouncing gang violence.

Yeah, well, since they've remodeled the website, I can no longer figure how to get to the CA forum/board to post this:"BULLETIN: CRASH OF MULTIPLE VEHICLES CLOSES GOLDEN GATE BRIDGE; MAJOR INJURIES REPORTED, CHP SAYS"

I sent the gov an e-mail on the site system, but didn’t copy it. Was able to use the word “crimmigrant” twice and my joke about two blind governors.
