Hey am waiting for the "racial" remark after this Wed. elimination. Have to say they both had talent compared to dreadlocks over there. Happened before in accusing Idol listeners of being racist. I googled. First time I found myself wondering if Wright had pushed the divide envelope over into our tolernat society more than we all imagined. Had me question the voting first off, where before hand I would not have.

I also looked at that David kid when asked what most wanted to know..who chose the song. "I actually (hear Simon's voice?) did not" believe him. In fact the kid got all emotional and had to be hugged by his Idol Mom's which is now really "icking" me out. The kid is just a "curiosity" at this point, like in a freak show at the Barnum and Baily circus.

Your opinion on either? neither?

Hey Rush, the day after, talked about watching Dancing with the Stars when we were watching Idol, so this is a "current events" justified conversation. ;)

I remember Elton John crying “racism” after Jennifer Hudson got voted off a couple years back. I believe that was the year Screamtasia won.

You know for some reason, I wasn’t even thinking “racial” as those 2 were in the bottom 3. Wright’s comments were wrong, and I don’t care who you are! LOL

I was also paying close attention to young David and what his reply would be about who chose that song. I didn’t really believe him either. He was so good and more confident in the beginning. Ok, he is only 17 but my son is 18 and when he was younger, he didn’t need to be coddled like David. If you are going to be a star, you need more strength and confidence than what he has, IMO. His voice and talent has seem to gone out the window.

So does Rush really watch Dancing with the Stars or just comments on it? If he does watch, yes this is a justified “current events” conversation!

JZelle, that was my main reason for not caring for Brook that much. Sadly I’ve not been a big fan of that sound either, not that I don’t think she is every tallented. I do.

I’d like to think each of the candidates get votes based on their voices, but that isn’t very realistic actually. Like it or not we do like to see a a pleasing package when listening to a song. I do believe that plays into it, but then that person must be able to sing. Singing being equal, the good looking one will win. And they will be more marketable. I don’t care how good they look, if they can’t sing, they aren’t going to sell songs.

I don’t think Chekezi was voted out on race. I do believe he was voted out on looks. I thought he was better vocally than Jason, much better. The only thing I can say is that I don’t think Chekezi would have won. He was going to go in the next two or three picks, so as much as I disagree about him going now and think Jason should have gone instead, I do not think it’s going to matter that much in the scheme of things. Is that totally fair to him? No. I wish he would have stayed.

What disturbed me most about last night’s bottom three was Sayesha. She is a talented attractive young woman who is going to be very marketable. She hasn’t come with the break-out song that I have hoped for, but when she does she’s a contender. Her song selections have been poor. She must sing outside the black song book part of the time. Otherwise she’s going to limit her appeal to blacks and a small portion of others who are really into that genre.

When I first heard David Archuletta sing Imagine I thought it was a masterful performance. I had hoped that he picked the song because it was pretty, even though he said he liked the message. And then he picked several other songs that were out of the communist song book. His father and possibly his mother have brainwashed the kid. He actually is convinced a world without guns can exist and that all the good people would be safer if only they would turn in their guns. He is also convinced that material ownership is evil, thus Imagine is core to his belief system. Until he can grow out of it, if he ever does, I’d just as soon he remain a relative unknown, not at true star. He is such a likable kid. It’s just such a shame what his folks have done to him. It’s quite evident that their message is more important than his winnning. Simon already told David that he was getting too preachy the week after Imagine. Now he’s back to dogma. Ug.

I like the rocker. The other night’s performance was incredible. I do think he is a definate contender. I’m not sure whose base will be the largest if the other singers finally hit thier grove. It will be interesting to watch.
