Hardball had some fun at Hillary's expense this evening over the mystery of The Sniper Who Didn't Fire. Credit Politico's Roger Simon with making the panel's most devastating remark.
Hillary's Heminwayesque claim has been that "we used to say in the White House that if a place is too dangerous, too small or too poor, send the First Lady." Chatting with host Chris Matthews, Bloomberg's Margaret Carlson, and Perry Bacon of WaPo, Simon observed what in retrospect might be obvious but something I hadn't previously heard anyone else remark.
ROGER SIMON: She says I was there because it was too dangerous for the President. It was too dangerous--so he sent his wife and only child? It makes no sense.

amazing timing. and Hillary really wants voters to focus on what happened in March 2006??? and why Bill preferred to send the family out of the country and stay home.

I am about to turn 64, I am about 6’ 4” tall and 270 pounds dry, I exercise by walking with 100 pounds in each hand. Would you call me a sissy if I said I am on the verge of tears at this point? I just lost my temper a few minutes ago because some clown on TV (I didn’t even register his name on my consciousness) said that Hillary should withdraw even though she is, “clearly qualified to be President”. Yeah, sure, and so is my border collie.

I looked at my wife and asked her if it wouldn’t be even worse if the story had been true and she agreed with me. The “smartest woman in the world” is telling a lie that, if it were true, would make her look even worse than the lie does. Yet we have idiots eligible to vote who think she would be a good President. It makes me feel as though my head is going to explode!

The wisdom of the founding fathers amazes me more and more every day. If we only had a Washington, a Jefferson, an Adams, or Poor Richard himself! There might be hope for this country. As it is I want to crawl in a hole and pull it in over me.
