NO they don’t. And sitting behind a locked, reinforced door, means he should not have it in Condition One. No reason for a round to be chambered.

I have a round in the chamber AT ALL TIMES, but I only carry those with external thumb-operated safeties. I wouldn’t own a Glock personally.

All LEOs on duty have "a round chambered." A pilot wearing a weapon is on duty.

No idea what happened on the AD, but your comment is wrong.

Any pistol with a decocker lever is perfectly safe with a round in the chamber. Actually, now that I’m thinking on it, any pistol is perfectly safe with a round in the chamber, so long as it’s a double action or the safety is on, or both.

So when the door opens for any reason the pilot is supposed to pull out the gun and chamber a round? And when the door closes, the pilot is supposed to unchamber that round? How many times does the pilot do that? And then there is the issue of the time to chamber a round when the door is forcefully breached. IMO, it's safer to leave it loaded, with a round in the chamber, and the gun in the holster.

All FFDO’s are required to have a round in the chamber during service. They are Deputized Federal Air Marshalls.
