Watching the Reverend Jeremiah Wright gesticulate like a horny peacock and spew out ignorance, hatred, and bitterness towards America truly inspired my religious faith.
Once Wright pointed out that he was still in Bible country, I began to love the hell out of rich, white people just as much as Wright does.
How could so many people not understand that white people have caused all the worlds problems? As Wright pointed out to his congregation, the Bible says its so. Im not sure what verse actually says that, but Im now betting that rich, white people are responsible for my biblical ignorance.
Regardless, Im rejoicing because I have prayed for forgiveness that God made me white, not Wright. Im also praying for all the people Reverend Wright identified as Negroes who just dont get it. I hope that Wright will change and that those Negroes wont make him sick anymore.
I dont know about you, but I feel liberated now that I realize that my own stupid decisions and selfish actions are no longer my fault. Now that I wont have to accept responsibility for my thoughts, my words, or my decisions, I am thanking God for creating rich, white people for me to blame all my problems on. Im also thanking God for justifying my sin whenever I allow myself to think something I shouldnt about other people -- just as Reverend Wright has taught me to do.
Praise the Lord that Im not like rich, white Hillary -- I actually know what its like to have a cab whiz by me. But I didnt realize, until last week though, that my not being white enough was probably the reason I was shunned. Thanks to Reverend Wright, now I understand that rich, white people were responsible for those non-white cab drivers refusing to pick me up.
I also realize now that rich, white people are responsible for poor children growing up in single-parent families. I used to think that the irresponsible sexual behavior and lack of commitment between the childrens parents were responsible. But I guarantee these parents feel a lot better knowing their fornication is someone elses fault. Thanks to the Wright kind of reverend, I now have a totally new respect for sexually immoral people unless they are rich and white, of course.
Despite the conflicting medical evidence, I now know too that AIDS and drug abuse are rich, white peoples fault. Individuals who choose to abuse drugs and engage in deviant sexual behavior are merely victims driven to bad decisions by rich, white people. Certainly being a victim of evil people feels better than thinking of ones self as just a pathetic drug addict or a promiscuous sexual deviant. Oh, I am so glad that Reverend Wright worked twice as hard to get a passing grade and that he knows he is smarter than that C-student sitting in the White House. Otherwise, I would have never known the truth about drugs and AIDS.
I cant tell you how relieved I was Tuesday concerning Obama and Wrights twenty-year relationship. Obama said, Not once in my conversations with him have I heard him talk about any ethnic group in derogatory terms. Praise the Lord for prepositional phrases like in my conversations with him.
When Obama said, I can no more disown [Wright] than I can disown the black community, I was glad Obama didnt actually mean, If I disowned Reverend Wright because hes a racist, I would instantly become one of those Negroes who just dont get it.
I finally swooned (actually, I cringed) at Obamas hopeful audacity when he eloquently humiliated his white grandmother for political gain because she once confessed her fear of black men who passed by her on the street, and who on more than one occasion [had] uttered racial or ethnic stereotypes that made [Obama] cringe.
I havent figured out, however, how rich, white people caused Obamas father to abandon his responsibilities as a dad and a husband thereby forcing someone else to provide for and care for his child. Perhaps Mr. Obama strategically deserted his family so Reverend Wright could preach that Barak fits the mold of a poor, black man -- even though Obama was raised by his generous and loving white grandparents.
More importantly, Im just grateful that Barak refocused our country on the real culprits related to racial hostilities. Obama targeted a corporate culture rife with inside dealing, questionable accounting practices, and short-term greed, as well as economic policies that favor the few over the many. Yes, Obama, if Americas evil corporations and economic policies were not preoccupied with causing greater suffering in the world, perhaps they could find time to develop medications to treat AIDS and continuously improve technology to better our lives.
Obama has reminded all of us that we have a choice. We can examine disturbing evidence in order to draw the right conclusions. Or we can simply ignore it and have the audacity to hope it just goes away.
Obama pappy was ridin’dirty!
This Typical White Person is just wondering.....
A lot of the lads on the NYPD could tell you about that hate. They see it every day in the eyes of people who've been steeped in it since birth. That is why when a squad of cops think one of them has a gun or is reaching for a gun the lead count hits half a hundred in seconds. The day you see that hate you'll never forget it. You can't. It is a matter of atavism and beyond your conscious control.
I was deeply disappointed that, on the matter of racial politics, Obama has turned out to be just another hustler.
That said, now that we’re here, the opportunity and necessity for people of good will, who love this country and are sick and tired of seeing blacks enslaved to government by teachings of hate and bigotry, to speak up and continue to speak up, as this author has done.
At some point, this Wright-racism pig has to stop flying. May it be NOW.
That’s what makes me sad.
I really had no idea these madrassas were having the pervasive effect that they apparently are.
I thought the racial-hate-mongers were fading away.
Instead of demonstrating that we are a post-racial nation, Obama has turned the clock back, way back. He’s also opened the blinds so that the rest of us can look through the racist haters window and see what is actually going on.
If that happens, then the fruit of this rotten-to-the-core tree nurtured by Wright et al through the years will be laid bare for all to see.
And at this point in our history, maybe the backlash will be big enough and sustained enough to finally lance this poisonous boil (mostly) once and for all.
Good one. He should also have mentioned that white people were the ones who abolished slavey, but of course, Mr. Wright will never admit to that now, will he?
Muslim traders actually enslaved the Africans, with the help of African chiefs. Wish more blacks were aware of that.
come on......you just know how white people act...just ask b. HUSSEIN!!!!
What a way to go through life.
Demure white mothers with baby strollers (me) have seen it too. That's why I moved out of Philly.
I would've ended up having to kill one (justifiably), I'm afraid.
Well, I’ll agree at least that for too many Blacks the clock stopped a long time ago.
Having the Rev Jessie and the Rev Al shapie smashing the clock everyday isn’t helpful. Brooker T was correct in so may ways.
No matter what happens, I am glad I don’t live in Denver( or Atlanta, LA, Detriot, etc, etc). If Hill is selected, there will be riots.
If the the Big O gets the pick - there will be riots.
Kind of like Detroit after either a particularly big win or loss by one of its sports franchises -- riots either way.
BINGO, my thoughts exactly.....so far has the political discourse fallen.
Your headline is better than the story. It describes Obama’s predicament perfectly. My whiteness versus my Wrightness, is better than I chose my black Uncle Jeremiah over my white granny.
“Cops aren’t the only ones who recognize the hate in their eyes.”
That’s pretty chilling. I’d always thought it was a guy thing, me being on their turf and all.
I’m white and having a whole slew of cabs driving behind me like the Sprint commercial isn’t always all that great. They’re always taking up the spare parking spaces when I go to the store and always create traffic congestion even if I want to go out for a Sunday afternoon drive to drop off my 3 month old wardrobe down in Harlem. These people really need to be more thankful for what they have....(now am I white enough for Obama?) /s
Not an unmixed truth.
Manumission was extremely common for Roman slaves. It included Roman citizenship, a huge perk. The children of freedmen were accepted fully as Romans and could even become senators or political leaders. That contrasts poorly with the permanent color line in the American south.
OTOH, Roman slaves could be, and often were, crucified or tortured to death at their master's whim. On the other other hand, there was very little to prevent an American slave owner from doing the same.
To be fair, slaves were better treated in South Carolina than in Brazil or Jamaica largely because they were more valuable. The closer you were to the source, the less slaves cost and the more you could afford to kill them off with mistreatment and buy new ones.
This is pretty much a myth, as it applies to the Atlantic slave trade. Most slaves were sold directly to traders by pagan African chiefs, who controlled the entire coastline. Muslims were pretty much limited to the Sahel and Sudan, inland from the coast.
Muslims did, however, control the cross-Sahara and eastern Africa slave trade. These started earlier and continued longer than the Atlantic trade. The cross-Sahara trade, in particular, had a much higher death rate than the Atlantic trade.
