I went to the sponsor link but couldn’t see a list of sponsors. It’s late; I’m probably missing something. Could you please enlighten me?
Valiant effort.
They will NOT CARE 0.0000000001%
1. They bow up fiercely and intensely at the least hint of any kind of threat.
They become more stubborn; more proud, more indignant . . . more fierce than ever about their position on whatever is being protested or threatened.
2. They see themselves as supreme rulers of ignorant, idiot serfs who are of no more significance than used toilet paper. And that’s Chinese. Foreigners—sometimes especially Americans—are much LOWER than THAT!
3. At a very core foundational level . . . they do NOT care what any foreigner or group of foreigners or all foreigners think of their edicts and behaviors.
4. They CAN be a bit schizophrenic about such things. Protests do help political prisoners and crack downs on Christians can be lessened by massive foreign pressure and “loss of face.”
5. But something like this—threatening their sponsors—they don’t give a rip. The money doesn’t matter that much to the powers that be—COMPARED TO THEIR CHINESE PRIDE AND STUBBORNNESS.
6. The decision maker’s number one sons could lose $billions. They might wince—money is an idol, still, for sure. But compared to Pride—money, even, comes in a poor 2nd. Bottom line—tough for number 1 son. Pride much more important. ‘They would rather be reduced to rice and grass than kowtow to western threats of any kind.
Their Chairman's name is E. Neville Isdell. Here is the note I sent him on their Feedback page:
Dear Mr. Isdell: I am sure you are aware of China's recent atrocities in Tibet. I understand Coca-Cola is a sponsor for the upcoming Olympics in China. I am writing to inform you that until I hear either that Coca-Cola has withdrawn as an Olympic sponsor, or that China has ceased its crackdown on peaceful dissidents, I will not be buying any Coke products for my family. I am also going to post this Feedback address wherever I can think of. Yours, etc.
