Forecasters are warning Britons to brace themselves for bitterly cold temperatures and travel delays over the Easter holiday period.
The country is expected to face biting Arctic winds, snow and some of the worst weather on the roads over the earliest Easter since 1913.
Scotland, the north-east and eastern England were likely to be hit with snow from tomorrow night, but the Met Office said this could spread to the south-east by the weekend.

Darn that Global Warming!
Bush’s fault.....
Guess they didn’t get the memo: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1988331/posts
When we were kids in New York, it was always a hard choice whether we wore our mukluks and big coats over our Easter finery, or whether we wore our new spring reefers and Mary Janes and froze....
Looks as if those days are coming back again.
P.S. I can always remember the crocus flowers bursting out of the ground at the first few days of non-freezing weather, and then being snowed on. They were always the flower of optimism and hope to me when I was a kid.
I have seen at least one article stating that despite record cold over this winter 2008 is going to be one of the warmest years on record. I wonder what will be written if the summer turns out cooler than usual?
Paging Al Gore...can you please restart your global warming engine. The Brits are getting a chill.
I haven’t heard much from Al since the Earth started cooling last year.
Must be all that CO2 in the atmosphere, global warming causes all climate change, don’t ya know.
Has anyone noticed that the greenie weenies are using the term “climate change” instead of “global warming”. That way, they can cover all bases and still enslave us.
My son lives in London, I guess he and the family will have to cuddle up. LOL
We’ve had flurries of global warming here in SW Germany for the past couple of days.
Expecting a fair amount of global warming to be dumped this weekend with additional flurries next week.
Glad I have my warming shovel handy.
Well at least it could keep the Yobs from attacking the few Christians left that will go to Mass on Sunday.
Those were the days.

Yes — when a reefer was a short jacket. (Later on they became known as “car coats”). I still wear Mary Janes, actually, although this Easter it looks like mukluks will be the order of the day.
