On the surface, Tiger Woods and Barack Obama seem to share much in common. While both are obviously among the most charismatic, talented and famous people in the nation (if not the world) it is in the area of race where their apparent similarities have received by far the most attention.

…. reaching heights of achievement that no one of their backgrounds had ever attained before, both have been given credit for creating, as well as taking advantage of, a so-called postracial dynamic that many herald as a break with our country's often disgraceful history when it comes to race.

I am a huge fan of Tiger's. His mental toughness is almost as admirable as his superb playing. He is one of the few athletes that would make a good role model for a kid.

However, I bet he's an Obama supporter.

Tiger CAN play the victim, though. A few years ago he was playing the Phoenix Open and someone spotted a man with a backpack containing a Legally carried concealed weapon.

The carrier was arrested and the press made it sound like he was a racist with the intent to kill Tiger. This was perfectly idiotic but Tiger has refused to play in Phoenix since then. And of course, this incident is played up every year by the press.

When I took the concealed carry class here in Houston, we were told that drinking, let alone drunkenness is not allowed if you are carrying a weapon. If the dude @ Phoenix was actually drunk, I would question whether his concealed weapon was "legal". He probably had a driver's license as well, but it too is void if he was drunk.

I haven’t studied the CC laws here but I seriously doubt that it is illegal to carry if under the influence UNLESS the weapon is brandished.

As to having a D/L, it is perfectly legal to have a D/L while drunk. Your D/L is NOT “voided”. You just are not allowed to drive.
