A tornado has been reported in downtown Atlanta...some injuries.
I just checked the radar and my goodness those strong storms keep training over the Atlanta area. Have there been anymore tornados on the ground today?
I seriously doubt anyone wanted to dent the drought like this.
TAKE CARE!
Yes, God is merciful! Despite disasters that hit, HE is merciful!
Ch. 11’s Meteorologist was saying last night/this morning that he was almost positive it was a tornado. He was a trained spotter in the last place he lived before moving to Atlanta, and he said the witness statements sounded like what you would expect from a tornado at night. Along with the damage.
You’re very welcome. :)
Well it seems to to me...but what do I know about tornado sirens?

Windy and very much humid....
Prayers for you and yours....
LOL... I was just totally shocked when the mayor said on-air that they didn’t have them. We’ve had them wherever I’ve lived - outside Chicago, Denver and now in Wisconsin. Just seems silly not too — besides they are for air raids and Civil Defense too, right? I would think it should be a requirement for those reason too, personally. It can’t hurt!
Thanks for the update Davey, I appreciate it.. :)

Amen.
It bears repeating - often...

On a sadder note; my wife just learned that the woman killed this morning was a retired veterinarian and kept a kennel. They found many of her dogs also dead but they were able to find and rescue seven.
Has anyone heard from the Yankee? One of those Tornadoes went right over Newnan just after the last post on this thread.
Prayers for Yankee... I hope he’s alright. Maybe his power is out - I hope that’s the worst of it.
Very sad about the lady and her dogs... I imagine God has a big place all lined up for all of them, though! ;)
I hope they re-invest in a few sirens for the county(ies) that don’t have them. They are lifesavers, and well worth it.
May God comfort you with His best biggest Hugs.
Wow.
LUB
No problem. I’m glad they were of some help to people.
I’ve been to Atlanta only once. I was there on vacation the day I turned 16 years old, but I haven’t been back since... Wow... 19 years ago this Summer....
The weather guy on Ch. 11 joked on air after the mayor spoke was kidding around saying he was going to call her and tell her to watch them next time because apparently he was the only one to get a warning out on the media before it hit...
Glad to hear they have some sirens. Even the mayor said they “mostly rely on media” so I wasn’t sure if there were any at all...
Too bad about your company’s building. I’m glad everyone is alright.
We trained dogs most of the day just south of the Newnan airport (in Moreland) and the wind was terrible, but it was all clear sky straight line wind. One young dog had so much trouble swimming against the wind he and the duck he was carrying flipped over backwards, and his owner and I were shucking off clothes to go in after him (I was bird boy and closest to the dog) when the wind suddenly just died to a dead calm and the dog righted himself and swam on in.
Most of the bad stuff passed well to our north, and we were all in our trucks and gone by the time the rain started.
But it is completely amazing to me that more folks weren't hurt or killed last night and today. A lot of bad storms.

A scary thought just came to me. If that game last night had not gone into OT, how many people would have been outside at the time the storm hit?
Fortunately that didn’t happen.
