Spokesman Tommy Vietor emails:
"Rev. Wright is no longer serving on the African American Religious Leadership Committee."
That cuts Wright's only formal tie to Obama, and answers what was sure to be a question in Obama's interviews tonight: If Geraldine Ferraro had to leave the Clinton campaign, why is Wright different.

Obamas angry pastor.
By Kathryn Jean Lopez
*********************************snip**************************
This week, anyone listening to Rush, Sean, Mark, Laura, or Bill watching Fox News, or even reading ABCNews.com knows that the Reverend Jeremiah Wright is bad news for Barack Obama. While Chris Matthews wasted a perfectly good rant on Thursday nights Hardball on the poll that reports that 13 percent of Americans apparently think Obama is Muslim, thats going to be the least of the Illinois senators problems once more people get a listen to Wright the man who inspired the very title of his second, bestselling book, The Audacity of Hope.
And it was Sean Hannity who a year ago connected the obvious dots. From the embryonic stages of Mitt Romneys candidacy for the Republican nomination, Romneys lifelong Mormonism was seen by many media and political analysts as a potentially fatal issue. So how can the church of choice for the adult Obama family not be an issue especially when the pastor is a radical, and clearly has influenced the thinking, the financial choices, and book title of Barack Obama, Democratic frontrunner and very possibly the next president of the United States?
When will Barack Obama have to give a speech in Houston assuring Americans he will not be at the ready command of Reverend Jeremiah Wright, who peddles hate and anti-Americanism?
I like the idea of Barack Obama as much as the next American. But Obama as president isnt a philosophical exercise, its a very real choice, one to consider carefully. And at the moment we know hes contributed money to, voluntarily listened to, and publicly defended a cleric who peddles racial warfare. Obamas even named Wright to his African American Religious Leadership Committee.
Wright fans the flames of racial animosity. Consider the way ABC (no arm of the vast right-wing conspiracy) reported it Thursday:
Sen. Barack Obamas pastor says blacks should not sing God Bless America but God damn America.
The Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Obamas pastor for the last 20 years at the Trinity United Church of Christ on Chicagos south side, has a long history of what even Obamas campaign aides concede is inflammatory rhetoric, including the assertion that the United States brought on the 9/11 attacks with its own terrorism.
. . .
An ABC News review of dozens of Rev. Wrights sermons, offered for sale by the church, found repeated denunciations of the U.S. based on what he described as his reading of the Gospels and the treatment of black Americans.
The government gives them the drugs, builds bigger prisons, passes a three-strike law and then wants us to sing God Bless America. No, no, no, God damn America, thats in the Bible for killing innocent people, he said in a 2003 sermon. God damn America for treating our citizens as less than human. God damn America for as long as she acts like she is God and she is supreme.
In addition to damning America, he told his congregation on the Sunday after Sept. 11, 2001 that the United States had brought on al Qaedas attacks because of its own terrorism.
We bombed Hiroshima, we bombed Nagasaki, and we nuked far more than the thousands in New York and the Pentagon, and we never batted an eye, Rev. Wright said in a sermon on Sept. 16, 2001.
We have supported state terrorism against the Palestinians and black South Africans, and now we are indignant because the stuff we have done overseas is now brought right back to our own front yards. Americas chickens are coming home to roost, he told his congregation.
Sen. Obama told the New York Times he was not at the church on the day of Rev. Wrights 9/11 sermon. The violence of 9/11 was inexcusable and without justification, Obama said in a recent interview. It sounds like he was trying to be provocative, Obama told the paper.
Rev. Wright, who announced his retirement last month, has built a large and loyal following at his church with his mesmerizing sermons, mixing traditional spiritual content and his views on contemporary issues.
I wouldnt call it radical. I call it being black in America, said one congregation member outside the church last Sunday.
First the title is msiplled, and now YOU can't get Burka Wright!
I'm living proof of that!! ;^)
Now that might be good....Major had some statements on the Special News Hour....and hinted they had something special coming later....
Me too.
Smiling back at you.
..the MSM didn't want to burst the bubble....
Seems to me that if it was a Priest saying things like that about blacks, he’d already be in jail.
Wanna know what changed? Someone took a light, shone it upon the "Reverend" and exposed him to public. Obama and his inner circle already knew what we now know - he knew it for the 20+ years he was an ACTIVE and ATTENDING member of the congregation. He knew it every time he tithed, every time he appeared in public with the "Reverend", and every time he endorsed him. This is not a repudiation of the racist anti-American views - it is a political calculation to limit the damage wrought by publicity of the truth.
This disease cloud will cling to Obama until he severs all association with this racist anti-American church and its racist anti-American teachings. He has to either alienate himself from the broad American voting public, or alienate himself from the anti-American racist cult members of his "church". Which is it going to be, Obama? Your country or your little black-supremacist cult of anti-American bigotry?
Saw it too. It is sickening. So many blacks are stuck in the malcolmx mentality forgetting he had a conversion!
I can imagine a real race war in this country at this rate.
Hmmmm. Call child protective services.
No We Can’t ! Obama is Salama....! I won’t wear my Flag Pin, My wife since I met here never liked her country until this year when I promised to make change, and my spiritual advisor and the man whom married us and baptized our children is a racist and America Hater.... but please let me guide this G Damn Country..... NOT!
Loser.
Add to that the fact that Michelle Obama thinks “America is just downright mean”!
What are they teaching their kids?
Did Wright jump or was he pushed?
C’mon MSM, print the headline you’re dying to print, but too dumb to come up with:
OBAMA: WRIGHT IS WRONG!
Works on so many friggin’ levels for me...
My nagging intuition is that this affair is much more closely linked to Al Qaida, Hezbollah and other terrorist orgs than it seems on the surface. Could I be foil-hat wrong to assume that Obama was groomed for his candidacy in order to get a closet muzzie into the highest office of America? Is that too much of a stretch? Now there are two muzzies in the House of Reps. It's an ominous start. Is dhimmitude really in our future? Are the RATs really as stupid as they appear to be?
Sorry, Obama is a thousand times more dangerous than Hillary.
