I can only speak from my own experience, but when the Episcopal Church veered away from my beliefs, I not only stopped attending, but I also stopped giving them my money.

My own Father our family left a church because they refused to help a family in the congregation that had fallen on hard times.

My Father was ridiculed openly by the pastor.

He didnt give up his faith, but he left that church and he helped that family.
