Obama’s Pastor: “God Damn America”

It’s no wonder that Michelle Obama has never been proud of her country before or that Barrack Hussein Obama refuses to wear an American Flag pin on his lapel.

This is a sermon by Jeremiah Wright, Chief pastor at the Trinity United Church of Christ where Obama and Michelle were members. In it he describes how a black Jesus was oppressed by white people and Pastor Wright proceeds even deeper down that well.

A “Damning” Indictment of Left Wing Hate

And if you really want to see the hate filled influence that is so pervasive within the circle of liberals that Obama represents, this video of Jeremiah Wright is DAMNING:

God Damn America
Excerpted from the Sermons of Jeremiah Wright

Sen. Barack Obama’s pastor says blacks should not sing “God Bless America” but “God damn America.”

The Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Obama’s pastor for the last 20 years at the Trinity United Church of Christ on Chicago’s south side, has a long history of what even Obama’s campaign aides concede is “inflammatory rhetoric,” including the assertion that the United States brought on the 9/11 attacks with its own “terrorism.”

In a campaign appearance earlier this month, Sen. Obama said, “I don’t think my church is actually particularly controversial.” He said Rev. Wright “is like an old uncle who says things I don’t always agree with,” telling a Jewish group that everyone has someone like that in their family.

Rev. Wright married Obama and his wife Michelle, baptized their two daughters and is credited by Obama for the title of his book, “The Audacity of Hope.”

An ABC News review of dozens of Rev. Wright’s sermons, offered for sale by the church, found repeated denunciations of the U.S. based on what he described as his reading of the Gospels and the treatment of black Americans.

“The government gives them the drugs, builds bigger prisons, passes a three-strike law and then wants us to sing ‘God Bless America.’ No, no, no, God damn America, that’s in the Bible for killing innocent people,” he said in a 2003 sermon. “God damn America for treating our citizens as less than human. God damn America for as long as she acts like she is God and she is supreme.”

In addition to damning America, he told his congregation on the Sunday after Sept. 11, 2001 that the United States had brought on al Qaeda’s attacks because of its own terrorism.

“We bombed Hiroshima, we bombed Nagasaki, and we nuked far more than the thousands in New York and the Pentagon, and we never batted an eye,” Rev. Wright said in a sermon on Sept. 16, 2001.

“We have supported state terrorism against the Palestinians and black South Africans, and now we are indignant because the stuff we have done overseas is now brought right back to our own front yards. America’s chickens are coming home to roost,” he told his congregation.

'Uppity' doesn't even begin to cover it.

Pretty incredible than anyone with Presidential aspirations (which Obama has obviously had for quite some time) wouldn't cut all associations with this America-despising black nationalist a long time ago. More than a bit shortsighted.

Yes. And here’s another one Pastor Wright gave just the other day:

Can a ClergyPerson be tried for treason as can a citizen?

Just wondering?

And the best we have as a counter to these jackwitted thugs is a screwhead liberal like McCain?

Good grief...

If not sunk already, this will definitely sink any chances that Obama can get elected president. I was just hoping that this would come out AFTER Obama secured the Dem nomination. Damn!

Jeremiah Wright makes the big time! I wonder how often Barak attended.

In any case Obama will get a pass.

Just because Obama attended this church for 20 years. Had his kids baptized there. And presumably attend also to learn from the same pastor, doesn't mean he agrees with what the pastor says. Yep.

When will McCain weigh in on this?

I’ll buy the one-way ticket to the country of his choice, so long as he never returns.

“Pretty incredible than anyone with Presidential aspirations (which Obama has obviously had for quite some time) wouldn’t cut all associations with this America-despising black nationalist a long time ago. More than a bit shortsighted.”

The fact that he hasnt cut ties with this church is more telling than anything, IMO.

It either means he’s incredibly stupid, incredibly isolated from mainstream America, or incredibly anti-American himself. Do I have to limit myself to just one possibility?

RUSH: I have but one question remaining for Senator Obama. Senator Obama, now that Senator Clinton has apologized for Geraldine Ferraro's remarks about you, will you apologize for your pastor's statements about whites? Will you apologize for your pastor's statements about America? Will your pastor apologize -- or will you apologize -- for your pastor suggesting we got what we deserved on 9/11? Will you apologize for your pastor's statements on Israel, or ally? Now that Hillary has apologized for Geraldine Ferraro.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: Now, I have to amend something. I said I had one final question for Barack Obama, and that final question was, "Will you apologize for your pastor's hatred for America, hatred for whites, hatred for Israel?" I need to amend it. I have one other question for Senator Obama. "Senator Obama, your wife has recently been quoted as saying America's a mean nation. Your wife has recently been quoted as saying that for the first time in her life she's proud to be an American while your candidacy is on the rise. Your wife has had many, many critical things to say about her life in this country and her future and her past. Senator Obama, could it be that your wife's view of America has been poisoned and corrupted by your pastor? Could it be, Senator Obama, that the best thing you could do is get your wife out of that church? Unless, of course, you subscribe yourself to your pastor's sermons and preachings."

Will Obama Apologize Like Hillary?

Perhaps it's because Obambi agrees with the reverend.

Gosh I could have used this as my Religion Class I am taking about how people claim to be Christian and are not. This is a great country it is not perfect but we have people beating the doors to come here. Shame on him. Will he be delivering the prayer if Obama wins the White House. Imagine Huckabee doing this or Mitt Romneys church saying something like this (and I am well aware all churches are not perfect) I am stunned a Pastor would say things like this.

Obambi said he became a Christian 20 years ago. Yet, he is strangely silent as to what he was before then (although there is ample evidence he was a moslem when he was young; but what was he up to his mid-20s? Still a moslem? No one seems to be saying).
