NEW YORK (CBS) ¯ Gov. Eliot Spitzer was not expected to continue as governor and may resign by Monday evening, sources told CBS 2, after it was reported that he was linked to a prostitution ring.

Reliable sources told CBS 2 Political Reporter Marcia Kramer that Lt. Gov. David Paterson could be sworn in as governor as early as 7 p.m. Monday.

Teskto, (minority leader) said if Spitzer does not resign within the next 48 hours the assembly will begin impeachment process, and they have the votes to follow through.

Patterson has called Tesko and asked him he he can count on his support if he become governor.

It's 3 A.m.
The phone rings in the Governor's mansion in NY.

"Uh, hello. Yes, this is Client 9. What? You say there is a package at my front door? No, no, not tonight, my wife is home. Send it to Client 10, the fellow in Harlem, you know that Clinton guy. His door is always open.

It tells me that other politicians are paying those prices.

My albeit somewhat limited experiences with politicians, is that they won't even pay for a beer let alone something requiring serious cash. When they want to party, someone else picks up the tab.

Now Spitzer was born with several silver spoons in his mouth, so maybe like the Kennedy's he could afford to pay for his own debauchery, but I would be very surprised if this guy was dumb enough to leave a financial trail that lead back to him.

But then again, a combination of big money, political power and egotistic arrogance has been the downfall of others. Perhaps this clown who has been so ruthless in roasting others thought he was immune. Pride cometh before the fall.

Meanwhile we still have the ridiculous drama of the House of Representatives trying to subpoena the White House over AG Gonzales’s firing nine incompetent US Attorneys.

And, meanwhile, we lost the capability of wire tapping terrorists, thanks to the Democrats.

I was just thinking the stock market might go up about 700 points tomorrow if this guy resigns. Wall Street will be thrilled to see him go.

Like I said above, on the world market Kirsten’s “services” would have a value of $375. But the witch’s brew of anti-male gotcha laws in the US jacked the price to $4300 making it a guarantee that plenty of politicians are now paying for their sex by enacting legislation that the woman wants.

Although I am a libertarian Republican who considers straightforward prostitution to be legal under natural law (as it is under the laws of almost every country on Earth), somebody should crucify this metrosexual male scumbag for doing this after going along with the feminists who joined the non-libertarian right in making this a federal offense.

He signed a law to prevent what the ideologues call human trafficking and made the following statement:

“Human trafficking is modern day slavery and among the most repugnant crimes,” said Governor Spitzer. “Today we have given law enforcement the ability to adequately prosecute perpetrators, and have provided meaningful assistance for the unfortunate victims of these egregious crimes.”

http://www.ny.gov/governor/press/0606071.html

He was saying he believes the feminist theory that the whore is the innocent one and the man a predator.

Spitzer brings new meaning to the word hypocrite.

In CNN's article today, the fact that Spitzer is a Democrat didn't appear until paragraph #35.

And regardless of whether someone feels that prostitution is OK under natural law, the prosecution of clients was virtually unheard of until Marxist feminism came along and called the whores victims of an economic imbalance with the patriarchy.

Men’s Rights activists expect that, if prostitution is to be illegal, it is the prostitute and the prostitute only that is to be charged and put out of business.

As Marc Rudov has graduated to weekly appearances on the Oreilly Show as well as Neil Cavuto, you can be sure to see more of the general Republican male opinion that men are not the criminals in the pay-for-sex game.

So when I say that this scumbag Spitzer needs to go to jail, it is only because I want this idiot to beg the Supreme Court to overthrow the Mann Act (if it even applies to transporting adults across state lines) and see relief that way. Unfortunately, it won’t go that far. He will plea himself into no punishment at all. This is not going to the Supreme Court.

Tonight on OReilly, Marc Rudov, the anti-feminist, appeared to discuss Spitzer.

I do not know exactly what was said, but I can be sure he condemned Spitzer for the hypocrisy of it all and for spending too much money on someone who shouldn’t have cost more than a few hundred.

He probably said exactly what I said above, that the high price of the hooker signifies that politicians value their extra-marital affairs too highly and are probably getting most of their sex by bending to the will of lobbyists.

Libertarian Republicans, including Ron Paul supporters, are not on the same page as anyone who thinks Spitzer broke any law that should exist.

We condemn Spitzer for having been a leading proponent and prosecutor of laws that should not exist.

Everyone on this thread is justifiably condemning Spitzer, but apparently for different reasons.

Well, here is why I am condemning him:

1. He betrayed his wife and when caught had her up on the podium with him, using her as a human shield.

2. He had his daughters in the audience, watching this pathetic spectacle and watching their mother being publicly humiliated.

3. He is guilty of the rankest hypocrisy, having set himself up as a a paragon of ethics and morality, and having prosecuted prostitution rings exactly like the one he used.

4. At the prices he paid, one can assume that the mob ws probably involved, not to mention the possibility of espionage.

5. I think the guy is a sanctimonious dirtbag, and I have never liked him. That may not be a rational reason, but it is how I feel.

Now you know why. It was to take attention off of this.

You're going to love this one, Ditto:

ABC: Spitzer led feds to prostitution ring, not vice versa

He paid cash, but forgot about the new banking disclosure laws.

The a-law-for-everything crazy boobs have got so many laws now that they themselves are starting to trip over them...

The MSM has stopped talking about McCain’s lobbyist girlfriend. I find that more dangerous to my interests than Spitzer’s one night stand on Valentine’s Day.

You should pray that you are never held to the standard you've promoted here, where people get to consider you a cheating, corrupt scumbag because you had a few work-related run-ins with some dingbat bimbo, but the guy up the street with a regular hooker habit is just having fun.

It's been fascinating to see people on FR decide in recent months that conservatism is a whole host of things that are as bad or worse than McCain's worst crimes against our movement. In your world, apparently conservatism is now an ideology where you consider a guy to be guilty with no evidence at all, just because it would be convenient to your dislike of him.

Here's my fantasy. Spitzer, as governor, is a super delegate, and presumably a Clinton supporter. If he resigns, he is replaced by David Patterson, who is, not incidentally, an African American. At the convention, it comes down to one vote, and Mr. Patterson casts his super delegate vote for Obama. Well, I can dream, can't I? And get me more butter for my popcorn.
