MSNBC IS SAYING HE COULD RIDE THIS OUT AND REFERENCING BILL CLINTON !!

Lieutenant Governor Donohue announced that she would not run for a third term in 2006. The race to succeed her drew eight major party candidates. State Senate Minority Leader David Paterson of Harlem won the Democratic nomination.

Riding it out, was not the best term to use under the circumstances.

Here is an addendum to #757:
Eliot was scheduled to meet with Hudson, NY, corrections’ workers; but he never showed up. Now I can see why—he was trying to correct his own personal problems with incorrigables.
Bye, bye, Eliot. Hudson will have to deal with the new governor to keep open the correction facility.

It's OK - Obama can heal him.

Come, come now. You know the media is going to report and analyze this without the same outrage they would (note the two above)if he were a Republican. You can't be that naive?I am far from naive. I understand that when you run on a platform of cleaning things up, as Vitter, Craig & Spitzer have done, and then fall, the media will be all over you. When you are a Republican, it will be worse.
None of which changes my points, which are that:
1). Republicans don't always resign, as the previous poster implied.
2). The whole thing with Spitzer is amusing, but we used to require more of ourselves. That we no longer do so mankes it hard to make too much of this.
3). The media can't spin what can't be spun. For example, with Vitter and Craig, the stories continue because these men continue to stay in office. Hypocrisy makes an easy-to-write story.

I seem to remember that campaign donations are supposed to be public records. Someone who knows the ropes should be able to find out whom Mr. Brener has been laundering money for, er, uh, I mean donating money to.

It's now been clarified that Patterson is a blind, black
democrat who is about to be named Governor of New York.
I hope he has a family (not that there's anything wrong with that.)

He's too hated to ride it out. But he's conceited enough to think he can.
He has no sympathy, especially from Wall Street. The floor erupted in a cheer when they heard the news.

Did that include the train fare and hotel room, I wonder? And Spitzer booked the room and the er...session in his own name. Talk about hubris.
