Here's the key graph:

One employee, standing at the second floor railing, asked McCain his position on illegal immigration.

McCain responded with a joke. "Yes," McCain said, "illegal immigration. This meeting is adjourned."

He went on to say...

"It is an emotional issue with America," McCain continued. "It is a national security issue with America and it is also a Judeo-Christian issue with America."

He said the first duty is to secure the nation's borders and that only once that was done to the satisfaction of border state governors would he work to create a temporary worker program.

"I believe we need temporary workers," he said. "I believe I can back that up with statistics."

There he goes again. Don't be fooled. We must derail Mccain

I think it was a very reasonable position to take.

“So, you’re campaigning for Hillary or Obama?”

Nope. I’m campaigning to find some kind of dirt or egregious error that forces Mccain to step down as the nominee

I suppose McCain missed today’s big decline in employment. I suppose that is due, as he even admitted, economics is his weak point. One question I would ask McCain is where is in the Western world has there been a “guest worker” program that has not resulted in permament stayers?

His term “temporary workers” redefines the word temporary!

“Where does he say anything about amnesty? He did say something about temporary workers.”

“Temporary workers”
“secure the borders, first”
“virtual fence”
“judeo-christian vlaues”

These are all code for Amnesty. Don’t believe me, ask Mccain about building the Hunter fence.

Nothin’ wrong with temporary workers...as long as you make sure they go home...AND as long as they NEVER BECOME RESIDENTS/CITIZENS!

Derail McCain, and replace him with whom and derail him how?

With regard to “temporary workers”, the devil is in the details. I can support certain temporary worker programs, depending on the conditions. I don’t support amnesty for illegals. I do support border security. I hated the Senate bill. I don’t trust McCain to “do the right thing”. I DO TRUST billary and obama to do the WRONG thing—every single time.

“I believe we need temporary workers,” he said. “I believe I can back that up with statistics.”

Yes. From slave plantations.

Guest worker = Rent-a-slave

But after all, McCain and Bush think alike on this issue and we were able to torpedo McCain-Kennedy anyway.

Not that I trust him after his involvement with the late amnesty bill, but he at least used the right words by saying we need a temporary worker program.

We do need one, a TEMPORARY WORKER program that can be enforced, instead of the status quo of people coming here for life.

It was coupled with yet another decline in UNemployment (we’re down to 4.8%). The Boomer retirement bubble is just getting started.

“Derail McCain, and replace him with whom and derail him how?”

Don’t know. All I know is that Bush managed to sink Mccain with one story in SC.
We need the same here. Let the convention fight it out over who should take his place...Romney, someone else, who knows?

If there’s one thing I’ve learned about the motivations of politicians - it’s self-interest and power. With Mccain as POTUS R’s will fallinto line behind Mccain no matter what he proposes. With HillObama R’s will attack her no matter what.

He’s just taking the issue away from the Democrats. After he’s elected he’ll become conservative. No wait; in his second term he’ll become a conservative.

Within two days we lost 5 children to illegal aliens in Michigan and Minnesota. We may be border states but those illegals who killed those kids weren’t Canadian.
