He said the first duty is to secure the nation’s borders and that only once that was done to the satisfaction of border state governors would he work to create a temporary worker program.

Well if he does the listed ‘first duty’ first then the other can be worked on from the congress, states, organizations, etc. I’d accept the ‘first duty’ as a very good starting point to which we aren’t even close yet. Congress has a lot of responsiblity in this issue whether they step up and accept it or not is another issue.

Cute. Real cute.

Voting “None of the above” is like closing your eyes hoping everything will be all better when you open them. It’s silly and dangerous.

The next president will either be McCain or whoever wins the Democrat shootout.

And no, I’m not a McCainiac. But I will certainly vote for whoever isn’t Obama or Clinton.

According to the tireless Team Juan shills heareabouts, The Man Who Would Be King (of Mexico) is riding a massive, unstoppable tsunami of support combined of equal parts "moderate Democrats, independents and Hispanics."

Assuming (naively, perhaps) that all of the foregoing on is genuinely the case; and not; rather, a clumsy, baldfaced lie on their parts... then, logically: they certainly don't need either the votes OR the campaign donations of we conservatives, obviously.

Get all those indys and "moderates" to foot the bill; do the volunteer work; and (ultimately) pull the lever for him come Election Day, then.

"What the heck is wrong with that? I swear, some of you people won't be happy until every Mexican is dead."

A little over the top, don't you think? We don't want illegals, so we want them dead??? Please get a grip.

What is wrong with what he said? He sets some obscure target of governors being happy. What does that mean? Do these govenors like illegals? There are four border states to which McCain refers. There are forty-four other states suffering from the influx of illegals. Where is the input from them? Where is the input from the citizens of this country?

McCain responded with a joke. "Yes," McCain said, "illegal immigration. This meeting is adjourned."

That is his standard quip when asked about illegals -- every time. Frankly, I'm pretty damn tired of him making a joke out of 1) the issue itself; 2) the fact that he is weak on the issue; and 3) the fact that folks have the audacity to ask him about it in the first place.

McCain might as well give up his mantra about national security until he is ready to pound the podium at every stop and demand that illegal immigration is brought to a screeching halt immediately.

McCain is so weak as a candidate that Georgia is in play in my opinion. This could be the first time in years that Georgia goes for the Dem.

I submitted a resolution to my Republican precinct convention that would require the legislatures of all 50 states to “certify” that the borders, ports, documents, and internal immigration enforcement are all fully functional/secure before and new guest worker or legalization of illegals would begin. Approved unanimously.

They have done nothing to secure the border and never will until some terrorist sneaks in and kills a bunch of Americans. If they wanted to secure the border, they would have done it. McCain and the rest of the elite (in their own minds) think the average American is stupid. I’ll take my chances with the Dem...maybe there is a chance to stop amnesty there. With McCain giving cover to the Dems, there would be no chance at all.

Maybe there just does not exist the labor force to fill those 63,000 jobs? We’re down to 4.8%, so when you’re trying to find laborers, the pickings are getting slim. The next step is contraction, due to a lack of labor resouces.

You don’t think we need temporary workers? How do you think your lettuce has been picked for the last 80 years?

Nope. There are some real imbeciles around this place, along with many more disruptors. Each is equally worthless. Ever since the ports issue, the Dems have found that clicking onto websites and starting fights over who's more conservative than who about issue (a) and issue (b) is a smokin' hot way to split conservatives.

It worked great for them in 2006. Looks like it's gearing up for 2008.

The sad thing is, most of us are so glaringly stupid we fall for it every time.
