I’ve got no problem with re-building, but someone’s got to do something about that “Dome of the Rock” thing.

Read the blessings and cursings pronounced by God through Moses and Joshua, then the major and minor prophets.
The Old Covenant served its purpose. It’s over.

When I lived in NYC from 1966-72, I saw banners over bridges, etc. all the time, announcing collections of money for the Temple in Jerusalem to be rebuilt. 40 years on and look where we are.

FOR THE FIRST TIME IN 1,938 years the linen garments of the lay priests are being produced in preparation for the rebuilding of the Holy Temple and the renewal of the Divine service. Ping!

Their cost is 2,500 shekel, (approximately $695). They will be sold only to true decendants of the High Priest Aharon, who aspire to be fully prepared for the day when they can once again perform the Divine service in the Holy Temple, may we merit to rebuild it soon! Are they going to have to call the Mormons for confirmation of Aharon's family tree? And $695 for them? Outsource it to China and you can probably get them for $49.95.

As I recall, isn’t this supposed to be one of the signs of the end times and the return of our Lord?

Only to dispensationalists. A supposed “third temple” isn’t mentioned anywhere in the Bible, and for very good reason.
Not that it hasn’t been tried before, though. In 363 A.D. they tried to build a third temple, and while they were working on it, there was sudden “unexplainable” fire and earthquakes; so they gave up.
In 70 A.D. the temple was destroyed, just as Christ said it would be. So I don’t believe God would allow for a third temple when Christ is the Temple and the Lamb of God.

Exactly, hence my belief in Postmillenialism. Most of the mis-understood apocalyptic literature in Revelation applied to the destruction in AD 70.

Revelation was written about 35 AFTER the temple was destroyed.

Read the blessings and cursings pronounced by God through Moses and Joshua, then the major and minor prophets. The Old Covenant served its purpose. Its over. According to Christ is it NOT over.... Even Paul says ICorinthians 10:11 Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples (examples): and they are written for our admonition, (warning) upon whom the ends of the world (age) are come. The LAW still lives but the 'blood' offerings ended with the final 'blood' sacrifice of Christ. Oh and remember Christ said "Destroy this 'TEMPLE', and in three days I will raise it up" John 2:19

Well, that is the crux of the argument. I believe that it was written under the early date scenario verses the late date (your) scenario. Written under the early date, it makes perfect sense with what unfolded in AD70. Under late date, it doesn’t. Under early date, the time texts make sense under late date it doesn’t.
I really don’t want another tired argument about this stuff, but if we must then....go ahead.

I am by nature and inclination very much in favor of such things, but I'm not sure if making Temple paraphernalia prior to the Temple is Halakhically permitted.
This is a matter for the Gedolim to decide!
