Q&A: Barack Obama
"I believe in the redemptive death and resurrection of Jesus Christ."
Interview by Sarah Pulliam and Ted Olsen | posted 1/23/2008 02:18PM

Barack Obama wants to set the record straight. He is not a Muslim, as recent e-mails falsely claim.

The Democratic presidential candidate is fighting the e-mails that have been widely circulated. Obama has been continually speaking about the role of faith in politics since his Call to Renewal address in June 2006.

In the days before the South Carolina primary, he is driving efforts to speaking with media to emphasize his Christian beliefs. His campaign also sent out a recent mailer portraying the candidate with his head bowed in prayer and says that he will be guided by prayer when he is in office.

The senator from Illinois spoke with Sarah Pulliam and Ted Olsen today about his faith, abortion, and the evangelical vote.

Jesus or not, he’s definately a prime target for muzzies who say that’s a no-no and now off with your head with a dull rusty machete.

No, he understands that in Islam, once a Muzzie, always a Muzzie.

The Bible says Jesus died for the sins of the entire world, including Muslims and salvation is offered to ALL including Muslims.

So if you don't believe Muslims can be converted you must not believe the Gospel message.

But without faith (genuine faith, not just something said to tickle ears) you have no core values from which that wisdom can be based. It all has to go back to something...

I have to say, the response here is interesting. Personally, I voted for Huckabee, though the truth is I had to hold my nose for him, too.
We really didn’t get a choice this year - every candidate was either a RINO, a flip-flopping opportunist, or just plain nuts.
Anyhow, lesser of two (three) evils, I’ll be voting McCain... BUT...

Does anyone really believe borderline racism and making fun of someone’s middle name are the way to go? How Christian are we being?

There’s a hell of a lot of material to use with Obama - he’s basically running on a socialist platform, with a dose of surrender thrown in for good measure. Start tossing around conspiracy theories, and I don’t see how that can help.

Wright has retired but Obama remains a member of this racist and anti semitic "Church"

He needs to explain if he agrees with its militant message.

It goes on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on.

There are MANY LEGITIMATE reasons NOT to vote for Obama, we don't need to manufacture lies.

The guy is NOT a Muslim - PUNTO!!! PERIOD!!!!!!

He belongs to a black Christian church, albeit a church with a weirdo pastor with a racist bent. That doesn't mean the guy isn't a Christian. Ku Kluxers were, or ARE Christians.

He keeps DENYING he is a Muslim. I don't know of ANY Muslims who deny they are Muslims. Wearing a dumb suit in a travel picture no more makes him a Muslim than Bush wearing a Chinese suit makes him a Chinaman.

So get off it already.

Go after all those REAL reasons this guy doesn't belong in the White House. And the real reasons Hillary doesn't belong there either.

‘We are an African people, and remain “true to our native land,” the mother continent, the cradle of civilization.’

...which we know NOTHING about.

Nah, he’s not a muslim - in spite of attending muslim schools, being raised by muslims, living in muslim countries - no, he’s no muslim!

What has that got to do with running for president, barak?

For some FReepers, it's The Crucial Question: is Obama a secret Muslim or not? One fellow (whose screen name I cannot recall) was adamant in demanding to see Obama's baptism certificate.

It’s that shifty look and beady eyes that give him away.

The border patrol could use your expertise. LOL

Wow...and did he have any choice in being birthed as a Muslim? So, because someone was birthed as a ‘Muslim’, their course is set in life? Please. The blood of our Lord changes all. A man’s heart determines his salvation/damnation...not his freaking birth circumstances. Good Lord, I don’t even like the guy, but show some intelligence.

That's a good start, Obama.

Now move on to the more advanced lessons.

"I believe in the sanctity of human life, even AFTER birth."

"I believe in the right to keep an bear arms."

"I believe in the integrity of the United States border."

"I believe that a progressive tax code is bad for America."

"I believe that militant Islam is a grave threat to the free world."

"I believe in the US Military as the greatest force for peace and freedome the world has ever known."

(and the biggie)

.
.
.
"I believe the Democrats have lost their way. Read about it on FRee Republic!"

Cheers!

I don’t care what he says. He is a Muslim by birth and no amount of crap he can put out is going to change that.

What a dumb statement.
We are all disgusting sinners, born in sin, who deserve to go to hell.
You too.
If the man confesses Christ, and proclaims His death to redeem us from our sins, and His resurrection from the dead, well, I say praise God.
That's the Good News.
Applies to democRATS and republicans, and Muslims too - if they repent.

“We are a congregation which is Unashamedly Black and Unapologetically Christian... Our roots in the Black religious experience and tradition are deep, lasting and permanent. We are an African people, and remain “true to our native land,” the mother continent, the cradle of civilization. God has superintended our pilgrimage through the days of slavery, the days of segregation, and the long night of racism. It is God who gives us the strength and courage to continuously address injustice as a people, and as a congregation. We constantly affirm our trust in God through cultural expression of a Black worship service and ministries which address the Black Community.

The Pastor as well as the membership of Trinity United Church of Christ is committed to a 10-point Vision:

1. A congregation committed to ADORATION.
2. A congregation preaching SALVATION.
3. A congregation actively seeking RECONCILIATION.
4. A congregation with a non-negotiable COMMITMENT TO AFRICA.
5. A congregation committed to BIBLICAL EDUCATION.
6. A congregation committed to CULTURAL EDUCATION.
7. A congregation committed to the HISTORICAL EDUCATION OF AFRICAN PEOPLE IN DIASPORA.
8. A congregation committed to LIBERATION.
9. A congregation committed to RESTORATION.
10. A congregation working towards ECONOMIC PARITY.”

GAG ME!
