I’ve asked this several times today (and haven’t gotten an answer yet): are ANY of these states “winner take all” for either party? I’m pretty sure that all of the states are proportional for Dems, but think there is at least one WTA for the pubbies.
Thanks!
Nope, all proportional.
The Texas thing is really weird. It’s kind of a primary/caucus state. I haven’t been able to figure it out.
According to this article, ALL Dem primaries are proportional:
“...Like every other Democratic primary election, Ohio Democrats award their delegates on a proportional basis, meaning on the morning of March 5, both Clinton and Obama are likely to be richer in delegates...”
“Ive asked this several times today (and havent gotten an answer yet): are ANY of these states winner take all for either party?”
Texas Democrats: 65% of delegates are awarded by state senatorial district. Then, they caucus by precinct at 7:15pm tonight and vote again for the presidential candidates and call their numbers into the Democrat county chairman who then calls the numbers in to the state Democrat Party and they use a formula to determine which candidate gets the 35%.
Yes, it’s a dumb Democrat way to do this, but they are dumb anyway, so what can you expect?
