Welcome all, to the most FUN LIVE THREAD on FreeRepublic.com!

If McCain keeps this “civility” act up he’s going to get hammered in November.
I’ll check it out, seems it doesn’t get a lot of play with the talkies, can’t figure that out.
Thanks Mark for speaking out.
Oh, hun! We already had a lib in Olympia introduce a bill to tax ANYONE with a rain barrel! It didn’t make it, but SOMEBODY INTRODUCED THE IDEA! So if you have a rain barrel at the end of your gutter....... you get taxed! Believe me, it WILL come up again.
BIG TIME!
Funny thing is, McLame made it MORE of an issue by berating Billy C. If he would’ve just shut his mouth, it wouldn’t have gotten much mileage, IMO.
Good night & God Bless!
I am confused like everyone else right now.
I think Bill C has a point but honestly, I don’t think MCCain has a chance to win against the Dem candidate, whoever it might be.
Although like everyone else, I’m just speculating.
I do have some thoughts on how it will go down should Hill win, which I think she will if nominated. It ain’t pretty but it won’t be so awful bad.
For sure we’ll have nationalized health care, something we wouldn’t likely have with McCain as Prez. Although again, McCain LOVES to reach across that aisle and I simply don’t trust the man. Not that he hasn’t betrayed conservatives so many times in the past and we should just forget this.Someone on this thread keeps saying over and over that McCain is important because of Judges and hey, WE SHOULD FORGET THAT GANG OF FOURTEEN STUNT?
I do NOT think Hillary will have us losing the war on terror. I think Hill wants to be the big, brave first woman Prez and she won’t wimp out on the war. I could be wrong, just a hunch, but she DID vote for the war and I think all her talk about wimping out is just posturing. But on this I’m almost positive McCain would be better but again, I DO NOT TRUST THIS MAN. He does love to reach across the aisle. And this is a fellow who berated Sec of Def Rumsfeld every damn chance he had, I have not forgotten. You know it really IS okay not to trust someone who has constantly betrayed you. Some would consider it SANE.
As for Supreme court....who’s retiring? the liberal justices? So what if Hill replaces them with more liberals? We did manage to get Scalia (who McCain said wore his conservatism on his sleeve I say to that commenter who keeps stupidly telling us that McCain is about supreme court judges) and Roberts in there. We won’t be any worse on that matter I would argue.
Still in summary, if McCain wins it will be because of the so-called Moderates out there, whoever they are, and disenchanted Dems. In fact, McCain’s counting on it. Don’t for one minute think he’s counting on US.
But yeah, I think nationalized health care is going to happen in this country inevitably. This became a factoid once the Dems got that Children’s health care program going. We’ve got a whole generation of kids growing up with health care and all of a sudden they got to go BUY their own? It’s going to happen. I don’t like it but I sure ain’t counting on McCain to stop it. McCain, may I remind, LOVES to reach across the aisle.
Hill WILL raise taxes, no doubt, but I must remind, heh, that McCain and only one other Republican voted AGAINST the Bush tax cuts how quickly they forget. So I should suddenly think that McCain won’t raise taxes? Just cause he says? Like he never lies or anything and don’t forget, this guy LOVES to reach across that vaunted aisle.
Well sorry for being so wordy but I just don’t see a big difference between McCain and Hill except maybe, MAYBE, McCain would be a little bitter than Hill on some things that matter to me.
Just so long as no one across the aisle wants his support.
By the way, McCain was announced the winner in Ohio over Huckabee. What a guy!
I think this is it. All they knew is he was a conservative talk radio host and had no idea he's as wild and intense as Savage but in a different way. Back in the day the only talk radio you could get here in Indy was WLW out of Cincy (the "Big One") and I always liked Billy - he's definately never boring.
Calling it a night.
Thanks for a wonderful MLS thread. Have a good night everyone! :) =^..^=
Hey you ... I received a rather sad latter from SA this morning that I posted earlier (see post #21)
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1980427/posts
along with a post (#25) regarding someone that I knew in Johannesburg. Sad day.
Gotta, run, GOODNIGHT my beloved FReepers! See you soon...
Thanks all
Good night.
I’ll pick up the tab.
Is this thread going to keep going all night?
Are we going to a seperate thread for part II?, or will we be staying here?
That’s your opinion. All I can say is it’s a long time until November, and it’s not like I’m completely sold on writing in a Presidential candidate; but as of now, that is what I feel best. I feel it’s important everyone turn out, regardless of who they vote for.
The real excitement I have for this election is that once again I get to vote for Mitch McConnell, who is at least a solid conservative; as well as several state offices, in which conservatives (one of whom is a registered Democrat, surprisingly enough) actually have an opportunity to win.
McCain COULD have just been a bit more noncommittal, maybe shrugging, maybe saying HE wouldn’t do such a thing but after all, HUSSEIN IS Barack’s middle name.
but McCain, what a guy! HE’s got to get all noble and lambaste a radio talk show host not that he’s not already in hot water with these very influential fellows.
McCain, he sure can rally and whip up that base,eh?
*LOL* I guess we all got to be good at something. McCain has found his niche.
Wow! That’s like taxing manurer in my state (WI). Of course, that’ll never happen here because the largest manurer producer is the Wisconsin state government.
