I came to work for my current employer in late 1991. Clinton was elected while I was on a business trip to Germany in Nov 1992. By March of 1993, the offices on my floor were half vacant due to Clinton's severe cutting of DoD budgets. I suddenly had to divide my time between DoD and commercial contracts to keep earning my paycheck. That pattern hasn't changed much since that time. I know very few people who have had the fortune to remain on a single project with stable funding over long periods of time.
