Those who have listened carefully to Rush understand perfectly well what he’s doing.

He began his recent push for Hillary by asking this question: Once Hussein wins the nomination, it’s going to be a white Republican against an African-American. How does the GOP attack Hussein without being smashed with constant charges of “racisim?” You know it’s going to happen (he said).

He actually seemed to think out loud on his show (this was about three weeks ago), although I think he had it already figured out before show time. He talked about some side issues, and then came out with his recommendation: we need to keep Hillary in this as long as we can, to the convention if possible.

By keeping Hillary in, we let her bloody him. We let her make every case against him first, to get some degree of inoculation for the GOP against the race card. This way, we just pick up on charges and arguments she’s already advanced. This way the power of the race card is diminished against us, although we can never make it go away.

This is the reason he gave, and I think it is a good one. If it happens to help his audience numbers, who cares?

Do you wonder as I do that the people who are mad at / pissed off at / disgruntled at Rush have actually never listen to his show?
Rush explains sometimes to death why he says what he does, how can anyone misunderstand?

“By keeping Hillary in, we let her bloody him.”

You got that right, and so does Rush. They don’t call him The Great Maharushie for nothing .. LOL

Seriously, even smart Democrats (I know, it’s an oxymoron) are seeing the same dynamic about to develop, and are starting to make statements that Hillary needs to gracefully exit the race after Tuesday, if she doesn’t gain serious ground. Bill Richardson said as much yesterday (though I wouldn’t call him the smartest Democrat).
