As much as I dislike the “McMansion” building trend, this is a terrible anniliation of the hard work of good people.
Right on both counts ... Beautiful homes.
You know, everybody screams and whines about people in South America clearing rain forest land that they own for farming. But the same kind of people who go into hysterics over someone else clearing land for their own purposes are the ones buying the million-dollar houses on the brand new street next to my dad...where they ripped out the forest land that once belonged to a local farmer, who died and left it to his kids that couldn’t afford to farm it, or to pay the real estate tax.
Gawd do I ever hate McMansions (aka Hummer Houses or Starter Castles). Freakin' hideous. Wouldn't burn 'em down though.
Also hate the reporter's use of that smarmy real-estate-agent buzz word "HOMES." He deploys it about 50 times during that video.
They aren't "HOMES" -- they're houses, for pete's sake. Nobody's ever lived in them, so they ain't homes.
And no, to repeat, I don't condone burning them down, nor support ELF. Just hate the damn ugly developments (and yes, I'm rich enough to afford one or more of them, so it's not envy that makes me hate the tacky monstrosities).
Appears to me that as long as this is a free country, anyone should be able to build any size house they want. I think that the idea that posters on this conservative forum are complaining about the size of someone else’s house is a little strange.
