Chavez orders troops to Colombian border (10 battalions, WAR?)
KRIS ^

CARACAS, Venezuela (AP) - Venezuela's President Hugo Chavez is sending 10 battalions of troops to country's border with Colombia.

He's also ordered the Venezuelan embassy in Bogota closed and say all embassy personnel will be withdrawn from Colombia.

The announcements by Venezuela's leftist leader pushed relations with its neighbor to their tensest point of his 9-year presidency.

Chavez is also warning that Colombia could spark a war in South America, calling its U.S.-allied government "a terrorist state" and labeling President Alvaro Uribe (oo-REE'-bay) "a criminal."

“Oil producers aren’t just sitting there saying “if you don’t give me $100 per barrel I’m going to leave it in the ground.” They’re saying “if you don’t pay me $100 per barrel I’ll sell it to someone who will.” And plenty of others will.”

I would say it’s both. They’re leaving oil in the ground enough to create the justification saying “If you don’t pay me $100 per barrel I’ll sell it to someone who will.”

Ecuador has just ordered troops to the Columbian border as well. Chavez wants to distract his peasants from their pitiful lives.

“What is Ecuador’s beef?”

Columbia struck at FARC camps inside of Ecuador. Maybe we need to hire the Columbian military to take care of things at the Afghan-Pakistani border. Our leaders testicles are soaking formaldehyde in pickle jars on the desks of MSM executives.

You Know? If we weren’t in Haiti, Bosnia, Germany, Japan. East Timor, Indonesia, Phillipines,Montenego,Croatia,Iraq,UAE,Panama,Diego Garcia,Etc Etc, we might have a real chance to wipe out this pug nosed Peon and get some oil, but as it is we couldn’t muster a truck load of cadets from VMI or Texas A&M.

There's a bit of that with OPEC, but that's nothing new, and they're no more effective at it then they've ever been. Oil companies, on the other hand, pump whatever they can, because that's how they make money. Oil companies aren't the bad guy any more than pharmaceutical companies are, John McCain's idiotic comments notwithstanding.

You know, if our military was allowed to WIN a conflict instead of tiptoeing around...we wouldn’t need to have forces spread out so far. No one fears the US military any more because they know that our politicians are scared of whining.

I’m talking about how the U.S. oil companies will use this incident as another excuse to raise the price of crude....

The US oil companies do not sell crude that they do not produce, nor do they control the price of it.

They buy crude and refine it and sell the products.

When the price of the products, gasoline, heating oil, diesel, etc. increases, it is because the refiners had to pay more for the raw material.

Its how much of your salary your willing to spend on gas not how much per gallon. We the American people have allowed the enviro wacko's, whose power comes from the Democrat party, to mandate how and what can be used for energy and where it comes from. So gas prices will continue to go up and up unless of course there is a huge down turn in the economy. Oh yea, you think oil companies make a lot of money off of fuel. Try figuring up what the government makes of a gallon. It’s ridiculous.
