But we are being told that if nothing else, McCain will be better than Obama or Hillary in terms of SC nominees, even though he would likely face a Dim majority Senate. This argument falls flat on its face given McCain’s past votes in favor of liberal justices like Ginsburg (wasn’t she an ACLU attorney?!) and recent opposition to conservative judicial nominees.
It really shouldn’t matter how McCain voted relative to the rest of the Senate, only how he votes relative to original intent, the Constitution and legitimate precedent. We need to stop setting the bar so low and start expecting our elected representatives to obey their oath of office. McCain deserves to be recalled by Arizona voters, not elected to the most powerful position in the world.
In any event, clearly we need a few more Bob Smith and Jesse Helms conservative Senators who are willing to filibuster liberal judicial nominees from McCain, Clinton or Obama.
LOL. I NEVER claimed Obama was in any way conservative. Why would I try to prove he was?
What the hell is your point?
All I ever said was McCain is NOT the conservative I want in office.
You gave me a list of things that shows that McCain is supposedly a conservative and yet you fail to show the liberal learnings he has (CFR, gang of 14, etc.)
This really is one of the funniest conversations I've had here in a long time.
You keep trying to get me to prove a thesis I NEVER stated. Why?
I swear you anti-McCain clowns don’t care if we get Hillary or Obama.
I was responding to your post # 355 as indicated at the bottom of the post you responded to.
Yeah Bill, and I'm more Chinese than Ralph Nader, but don't expect General Tso's chickem anytime soon.
That's why you and your kind are called Republicans In Name Only!
Brit seems to be having more and more senior moments these days.
Exactly, if we get off his back now who will be around to say "We told you so" with a straight face?
Let’s forget these three losers and just write in Romney. By the time election time comes around Obama will be on the outs anyway.
Speak for yourself.
I am. I also think I reflect the views of many of those with whom I attended CPAC with a couple of weeks a ago.
Any action you take, other than voting for McCain, is the equivalent of voting for a Democrat!
Before the outcome of the Republican nomination process was clear, I posted more anti-McCain replies than 90% of Freepers.
“My kind” knows how and when to make the most of a bad situation.
Any assertions you might post with an alternate conclusion are irrelevant.
Good set of pictures. McCain’s ideology on judicial nominations was made clear by the company he chose to keep in the Gang of 14.
There is way to much at stake to have the Republican party redefined in the image of John McCain. Voting for him is equal to saying that conservatives will support any Republican no matter what that Republican actually stands for.
A little GANG-GREEN never hurt anybody, right?
The Sierra Flub just shoved it so far up McCain's backside insuring his inevitable loss.
At least Ralphie will deliver us all from corporate evil, right? (snort!)
McCain is so stupid he actually thinks the Sierra Flub will support him with open arms because Juan supports the little monopoly money polution credit trade scheme. Anybody that DUMB simply cannot become President in this country!!!
Strange that you would now be so filled with self-righteous certitude based on such a flawed candidate!!!
2. John McCain would make a horrible President
McCain would appoint liberal Supreme Court Justices like his ideological twin, Sandra Day O’Connor.
You're right!
And that's precisely why I'm voting for Ralph Nader!!
I'm gettin off McCain's back and hurting the two dems!!!
(yet keeping my conscience intact by not voting for the lost, insulting, McCain "liberal conservative" cause!)
Any action you take, other than voting for McCain, is the equivalent of voting for a Democrat!
Strange that you’re unwilling to acknowledge this point!
Any action you take, other than voting for McCain, is the equivalent of voting for a Democrat!
Ralph can’t win, so your vote doesn’t support the only person who can keep a Dem out of the White House.
Self deception is a wonderful tool for easing the conscience.
