I thought we were talking about “quitting”. Throwing in the towel is the same thing is it not? Whether he quit immediately or not was never implied. When he could no longer stand is that not the point of submission? The point of known incapacitation from a break is what I meant to imply.One would be a fool to continue, that’s why I said stupidity can’t support your argument.

Well, I agree with post #30, the quote from Mr. Bork, that our society is ‘Slouching towards Gamorrah.’ Our society as a whole has been slip-sliding away during the course of my lifetime, I’ve watched it.

I believe that the reason is the lack of morals, the lack of religion. Incrementally we are progressing towards what Hilaire Belloc refers to in his book as “The New Paganism.”
