Now let’s purse the phrase “xenophobe with...hair on fire”. “Xenophobe” means, among other things, a fear of the foreign. It does not equate, to me, with the very pejorative term “racist”. I would admit to being a xenophobe myself to the extent that I am fearful for what this massive invasion of illegal foreigners is doing to our country and culture.
“Hair on fire” means, to me, behaving with great passion. Again, I would say I admit to exhibiting great passion in opposing illegal immigration.
So beauty and insults are often in the eye of the beholder. I am on your side on the immigration issue and do not feel Tony was, or intended, to insult you. The greater issue for those of us opposing illegal immigration is to emphasize that our opposition is to the illegality, not the immigration.
To quote the great philosopher, Obama, we were friends before this discussion and we will be friends after this discussion.

God has a way of taking such mini moments and using them as training for us to handle future, bigger, more important events.

Lastly, I had to admit that "NUNYA" hit a bit of a nerve. "Private Replys" are for private discussions. Posts on the Thread are open for public comment. I have a hard time being silent if my friend is being criticized for his behavior. Now, if you want to criticize his opinions, have at it. That said, I am off to read and relax.

Funny, you’ve made my point for me. When I spoke to your friend, and I’d like to think mine in a virtual sort of way, that was my reaction.
If you want to criticize my opinions, fine.
Telling me about how “women are” isn’t exactly aimed at my opinions, and didn’t exactly make me feel warm and fuzzy either, and only served to throw gasoline on the fire.
BTW, “nunya” was said and meant in a light hearted fashion, a fond memory of a marvelous friend. I obviously missed the mark and apologize.
Gee this has been a week full of lessons, many of which I could easily have done without.
I now see what I thought was a funny remark was not funny to you. And what you meant as a funny remark for me was "misunderinterpreted" at this end. [A failing I have grown more prone to with the passage of time.]
The lesson could be neither one of us is as funny as we thought! 8)
TS is our friend and is fond of all the SnowFlakes. [Well, maybe not the one who keeps calling him a traitor!] 8) As you wrote earlier, if we weren’t friends, we wouldn’t waste time fussin’ at each other. With gasoline threatening to go to $4 a gallon, I do not want to waste it by throwing it on a fire.
To steal a line from Tony, who stole it from Obama, who stole it from....: “Words count.” But, then so does context and syntax. Dog bites man vs Man bites dog. Same words. Was that FReeper smiling when they wrote that sarcastic post or gritting their teeth. Hard to know sometimes.
But, today is Sunday. A day of repentance and reflection. So, with that in mind I offer my apologies to you for those words of mine which aggravated rather than edified. Now it is time to put this behind us and return to our “warm and fuzzy” friendship. Well, “warm”, at least. Not sure what “fuzzy” means?!
